Would like to share my experience in Abad Hotels: Very close to the town approx 2.5 Kms and inside the valley. The view from room was amazing. Clean rooms, nice food and good service. The management of the hotel is also very supportive in terms of guiding you to all tourist places. It is a perfect destination for Honeymoon.

I'm sure this was once a great hotel but that was a long time ago. The rooms are tired, the beds hard and the facilities well past their best. The hotel states that it has a fitness centre - it hasn't. Breakfasts may meet Indian requirements but not Western standards. Very few staff speak English, the unofficial "official" language of India. We were amused by the Steam Baths - homemade, wooden boxes powered by household pressure cookers on electric hotplates. The Resort Manager was sympathetic to our complaints but unable to deal with the real issue - the hotel needs to be closed and renovated before taking in any more guests.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else until the new Abad hotel in Munnar opens next year.

The location of the hotel is amazing...each room gets the view of the valley. Staff is simply excellent especially the front office. After a tiring and head spinning road trip, the smiling FOA and consideration to give me the time to set my mind back is most appreciated.
Nice clean rooms, service oriented employees, good veg options for breakfast and dinner made my stay comfortable.
More activities are required for guests who are not on a honeymoon. There is no air conditioning which is a necessity for people who are used to sleep in an ac environment. A mini bar is a must as it is awkward to tell the room service to chill my bottle and then again ask them to get it back!!!

Room Tip: reception is on ground level and rooms are on minus levels. choose room on 2nd level that gives you...

We were there on our honeymoon in July 2011. Once you enter Munnar, you can actually feel the temperature change. I would like to share an experience with you which was at our surprise! When we had entered our room, it was very chilled and my wife had asked me to switch off the AC. But there was neither AC nor fan, as it is not at all required in such a pleasant temperature.
Another surprise was, ground floor of the hotel is actually top floor. And you go downwards as floor 1, 2 and so on. We had enjoyed our stay. Buffet was also very good. You have to have your vehicle for reaching there and for sight seeing. Must visit for those who are interested in hill stations than beach side holiday. I don't find any negative points.

Room Tip: Top floors advisable i.e. on first floor.

A rather characterless Indian chain hotel on 4 floors. Clean with lots of staff in dark uniforms. Decent breakfast included. Upper floor rooms have balconies and a view down the valley but the bottom floor does not. Our room was 402 in the basement where the nice corridor ends. The room does not get any sun and is cold. Hot water was erratic.
Wifi is not free and is very poor connectivity.

But did courier the mobile phone we left behind by accident.

There are some home stays in the area that might be nicer and better value.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the upper floors to get the view, and a better corridor!
