“unhygenic”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

they take yu down the hill in a shanty jeep..and thats the only thing that i enjoyed else the massage place is not upto the mark...very very unhygenic and the worst part is that they deploy teenagers who don't have much experience and much strength in their hands....but first and foremost the place is unhygenic and cold and damp and yu wont enjoy it at all !!

Both the Kathakali and Martial arts was good to watch. The Kathakali performers were very well trained and presentation was superb .

“Per dinner show spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

A bit pricy at 200 inr each per show, but was a great experience that showed me another side to Indian culture. The dancing show is supposed to start at 5 and martial arts at 6 but in reality they start when the stadium is filled (for us that w about 25 minutes late). Also, by the look of the front of house operation (ticket booth, etc) you think you are going into a proper theater but it's really just a big room with lawn chairs. This did not take away from the show, but was funny and worth mentioning.

The dance show is what I would call Indian kabuki, and acts out iconic Hindu stories. Afterwards you can take pictures with the characters. The martial arts show was very exciting, and well choreographed.

I also liked that the show was in the evening as most munnar sightseeing is during the day so it did not conflict.

“A must watch in kerala”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

When was booking the tickets for Kathakali I had some apprehension that i would not be able to understand the dance form but to my surprise in is very very easy, at punarjani they give you an introductory course of 15min that too was informative and entertaining.
Kalarippayattu is a martial art and was a high adrenaline show involving every kind of sword, dagger and stick that you can imagine....I hope the performers earn as much as the organisers.
