“good stay but bad quality of food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2011

Hi everyone. Misty mountain is a good resort to stay as the rooms were good and I had taken valley veiw room. Toileteries were good the bathroom was clean. Their service was a little weak as when they cleaned up the room on the second dat they forgot to keep towels in the room. I had to call upon the room service.
If you are a food lover please donot book this hotel as it is worse to have food here. The breakfast is quite ok. For taste i would give 8 out of 10 and for varieties I would give 6.5 out of 10. For dinner they charge 300 per person but the taste and quality is bad really bad. Believe me. I just wasted my money eating there. Very very spicy. As this hotel is far from munnar 8 kms. people normally eat in the hotel. But the management doesn't care about this. So there are other good options in munnar if you are a food lover and staying here is not a problem if you can go down to munnar at night for food. The fitness center is also not good enough. the treadmill was broken. The disco theque was good at night.

Thank you for your detailed review which will help us increase service standards .
I can truly understand your concern about the spicy menu .
The F&B manager Mr.Srejith is very accommodating and open to suggestions, so I wish you had approached him to make immediate possible corrections to suit your taste .

The dinner buffet is very reasonably priced at Rs.300 including all taxes and we care enough to provide good value for your money . I assure you that no one will ever have to go to town for dinner ,If only they care enough to take the management into their confidence and politely air their issues at the resort itself .

We are committed to making your ‘Misty’ experience a truly memorable one ..so help us to be a good host and make your vacation just that !!

Went for an impromptu weekend trip and chose Misty , guided by the reviews on Tripadvisor and most importantly the fact that the management cares enough to reply to each one in detail .... and it far exceeded our expectations !!
Reception staff very friendly and caring without being too obvious or in your face ( which happens with hotels out to get brownie points ! ), managers are sincere and welcome your feedback , food is excellant ( tandoor items a must-try ! ) and with their awesome location , perched on a hill overlooking the best view in town ..Misty has everything going for them !! The hotel was full during the time we stayed but the staff are professional and were unruffled.
We went trekking and even our kids could manage the path right inside the property . The masseurs at the spa were excellant and both myself and spouse enjoyed Abyangam in the privacy of the Spa rooms .Why, even my 10yr old had a free head massage thrown in ..

Thanks to all at Misty , we had a leisure weekend and you bet we will be back in summer for a longer holiday in Munnar !

Location simple perfect around 8 km before Munnar town. All rooms facing the tea plantations, which is a fantastic view. Room (Valley View Deluxe), i cant say it are large, but just sufficient enough for two. But the management had no clue about the package i had booked with them. After arrival they had to call their Kochi office to get it confirmed. We stayed there for 3 nights, but on all the three days the food was not upto our expectations. On the morning of our check out, i was asked to pay Rs 3000/- less than what i was expected to pay. Even after reminding him about it, he was convinced that i was not to pay the amount. But after leaving Munnar, their Reservation executive called me up and said there was some mistake in his calculations so please give the remaing money to the cab driver ( cab driver was booked by hotel itself so no issues), but the reason for miscalculation given was shocking. they said as it was sunday when i checked out, the usual person was not there and his replacement was not briefed about it. So i would say if you do not want any headache please avoid this hotel as there are many more in the town. This event and the reason was really disappointing.

I had my tour planned by TravelPort Mumbai and they had given me Hotel C7 but due to some reasons C7 didn't book room for me & that came out to be a blessing in disguise as they only booked me in Misty Mountain. Its one of the best Hotels found in Munnar.Idealy located near to tea garden having a panoramic view of the valley.

We were on our honeymoon trip from 24jan to 27Jan. The Best of this hotel is they serve excellent food with variety. The hotel is just 8km away from munnar town. It is not completely isolated nor over crowded like hotels towards townside. We being first time visitors found the location quite safe. I would like to mention we has a tubelight not functioning in our bathroom, but as soon as we raised it with the room service it was replaced within minutes. The Staff is friendly and service is excellent. The hotel also had born fire every evening with good numbers playing making our evening special. Our overall experience was very qood.
