You go with lots of expectations and are dispoointed at the sad state of affairs. We hired a local guide for INR 200 and that was worth it. Make it a point to hire one.
Fort: maintained well. Worth a visit for its historic values. Nothing much to see but still go for it.
Adi Khadi Vav and Navghan kuvo: These are unique architectural marvels and they are in horrible condition. There is moss ( lil) all over. There are pigeons nesting. All you see at the bottom is filthy ditch like water. You cannot climb down which is what should be done to really understand and appreciate it. But it’s in such a sad state you can only peek from top.
Buddhist caves: Little better than the above mentioned. Only if they were more informative, interactive. Then one would understand and respect this monument. As of now, it’s seen in less than 5 minutes.
Government and NGO and people really need to do something about this marvels- last thing one wants to do is see filthy small gutter like ditch.
