Kudos to the Gujarat Toursim Department for making such excellent arrangements in the middle of the desert. They had made good arrangements for picking up the guests from the railway station. On reaching the spot of Rann Utsav, we found that there was a festive mood around the whole place. The tents, dining hall, market, activities and the entire area was very nice and neatly laid out. The tents were very spacious and neat. We stayed in the Non-AC Tents which was good for the season. Surprise was the facility of free Wifi in the area. Although it was not available at all places, it was still a surprise.
The day trip to the Indo-Pak Border was enjoyable although long. You should visit Kala Dungar (Black Hill) on the way back from Indo-Pak Border to view the sunset. It was fabulous.
The other half-day trip to the crafts village could have been skipped but not the visit to view the sunset in the White Rann.
Must do: Indo-Pak Border, Sunset in White Rann and Sunset in Kala Dungar.
The evening cultural programs were good and the food was quite decent. The staff was very co-operative.
We had taken a two nights package which was good for the day trips but if you want to enjoy the place and the facilities, opt for the three nights plan.
When you go here, you can plan to visit some of the beautiful jain temples in Bhadreshwar and 72 Jinalay
