“One of the most informative tours on my visit to Cape Coast region.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2008

We stayed at "One Africa Resort," in Iture. One Africa Resort is on the Guinea Gulf where Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle Dungeons can be seen from the One Africa Resort Beachfront. One Africa Resort designed like a mini-village of Chalet's with thatch roofs. It is such a peaceful feeling and family atmosphere. It is a wholistic environment for those seeking a place of solace. In the morning there is yoga on the beach at sunrise early morning one can observe local fishing boats, fisherman and conc shell seekers collecting their goods, it is just a peaceful atmosphere.

The owner of One Africa escorted a group of guest to Elmina Castle Dungeon and with the tour guide historical legacy of The Door of No Return along with additional facts was presented that was moving and emotional. Prior to touring Elmina Castle Dungeons the group had traveled to Mansin River where we received pertinent information related to the journey of the enslaved Africans where they bathed before walking to the coast to be shackled and transported in the Triangle Slave Trade Market.

We have had the opportunity to spend a minimum of 10-days on our two visits to One Africa Resort in the Fall of 2006 and 2007 and we look forward to returning again this Fall 2008

“A must to visit in Ghana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2008

I visited Elmina castle in March, although local bus from Accra was held up for a few hours, still worth the journey. It is a beautiful building, slave dungeons very atmospheric. Luckily I was with Ghanaian friend, it was quiet time of year and tour guide was very informative, no rush. One thing sticks in my mind, the smell of human beings, especially in female dungeon. Not to be missed
