It is a nice old castle just by the beach... Quite picturesque and is surrounded by few restaurants and market for shopping.

At this Castle, you will get to hear of Ghana's Slavery History. The place still invokes emotions in people. Wear comfortable shoes for the long walks you will take around this place.
The shop owners are very welcoming and they don't cheat you! I really love going there and I have nothing negative to say!
I visited Cape Coast Castle. It takes a couple of hours to get there from Accra if you leave early before traffic hits. This Unesco Historical Site is not particularly well maintained, but should be visited to gain an important perspective on the dark period of slavery and human trafficking on an incomprehensible scale. You will also get an onsite into the difficult life the people in these communities have, making their livelihood from fishing. The tour guide had a great deal of information to convey, but did it is such an overly dramatic manner (repeating his comments in almost a whisper for dramatic effect) that it took away from the importance of the visit.
The building looks fascinating but the then purpose it served is awful.
Have you heard about slave trade?
Visit Cape Coast Castle.
Our guide was very well informed and friendly. It is a must do if you are visiting Ghana. The tour is such an amazing and en lighting experience, it is difficult to imagine the history behind the castle. Brilliant views, very safe and in a nice area. After we visited the castle we travelled to the outside market which added to our whole experience.
