“Best in cape coast...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

I travelled with two fellow back packers. We stayed in the dorm room which was clean, had a fan and lockers to put things safely. As is most coastal places, it is noisy on Friday and sat nights through till 3am. Having stayed in dorms all over the world it is good. Showers are the best in ghana! Staff are friendly and food is ok as long as you stick to meat or pizza! Breakfast is over priced and so we visited the Baoba Cafe which was outstanding. Perfect for back packers!

“Beautiful views, tasty food but too pricey for the rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We were recommended this hotel by other volunteers as a place to go in cape coast, that alot of other volunteers go to and has night life. This is very true the one night we stayed here there was a dance/drama club performing which was brilliant and the food especially the tuna pizza is very tasty. When ordering cocktails be careful, i ordered the cheapest one, which ended up being the funniest part of the night as the cocktail was in a shot glass - not worth the money. The room itself was for 4 2 bunk beds and cost 80cedi which sounds like nothing but compared to other places we stayed for alot cheaper it really wasnt worth it. They have showers in a block a minute walk from all rooms and same applies for the toilets, so not ones connected to the room, but this is very common in Ghana. Location is brilliant as its 5 minutes walk from shops and 10 minutes from the main street, and is of course is on the beach front. Overall this is a good hotel but overpriced slightly and can get alot nicer hotels for half the price.

Room Tip: better value to pay for a dorm.

“Worth it for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Went with my family (wife and 11/14 year old boys) as well as two friends from our volunteer project. The location is hard to beat - our room was 10 feet off the beach and less than a 5 minute walk to Cape Coast castle. The restaurant is decent for Ghana, not unreasonable for a hotel and has a good selection of drinks. The hotel is known as a destination for a party night out in Cape Coast with loud music and dancing, but most rooms (including ours) was far enough away and combined with the crashing sound of the waves, we were not bothered by the late night partying. At a little below $10 / night per person for a room with bunk beds, ceiling fan, mosquito nets, you get a good deal for the price. The shared toilets are decent and the outdoor enclosed showers offer a great respite from the heat and humidity.

Room Tip: The higher numbered rooms (there are 10 in total) are further away from the restaurant / dance floor...

“Overpriced and dirty”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We got a room here and immediately regretted it. Stay at the Mighty Victory instead. You can't beat the location of the Oasis, but it's dirty, there are incredible numbers of bugs in the toilets, and it feels like a 24/7 frat party.

“Good location, but beach side location made us feel vulnerable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for two nights - a lively bar in hotel was great and our room was away from this so the party could continue without disturbing us. The beach huts could be easily accessed from the beach and as a trio of girls we felt more vulnerable here than anywhere else we had visited in Ghana. But the welcome was warm, the staff helpful and the rooms were large and cool. Basic as you would expect - and bathroom area would hVe benefited from a new lick of paint as was looking tired. Would still consider if going back backpacking in Ghana.
