I arrived to Sunny Lake Hostel at 3 am with no reservation whatsoever, and the first thing I saw was a group of the owner's friends hanging out in the common room and inviting us to join them and to drink freely with them until they would wake him up. Even that late at night he didn't seem to be bothered by our unannounced arrival, and he kindly found us a place to stay and helped us with what we needed. That's basically how cool the enviroment at Sunny Lake Hostel is: people are hospitable, honest, helpful, and treat you like a friend.
The place itself is obviously not a five-star hotel but serves well its purposes: it is cheap, it is reasonably clean, it is well-equipped, and the design makes it almost impossible for you not to meet others and to make friends. The location is ok and so are the rooms. Specially the private one in which my girlfriend and I stayed on the second night: it was really good, and my only negative remark would be that it can be quite cold if the temperature outside is cold too (we stayed there in late march and we had a bit of trouble to sleep because of that).
All in all I am giving Sunny Lake Hostel a 4/5 but the staff and the cool and friendly atmosphere make it close to the 5/5.
