“Moorea Pearl Resort is fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We stayed in an overwater bungalow and it was beautiful, very private out on the deck. Snorkeling from the bungalow was excellent. In addition to the fish, we saw octopus and squid. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast every morning was expansive and very good. The location was excellent, as we could walk to town and shop or eat. We ate at Rudy's twice, and it was great. We shopped at Eva Perles; she is wonderful, gracious and knowledgeable. The grocery store is very close, and I really appreciated the opportunity to stock my own bar. All in all, one of the great highlights of a trip to New Zealand and French Polynesia.

We stayed at the pearl resort in moorea and bora bora, and we just got back home as of Feb 24th feel free to ask me question. Each resort was beautiful, but different,if you stay in a otw i would choose bora bora. And did you know that the resort in bora bora is on its own island! And it was beautiful. And if you go to bora bora make sure you eat at bloody marys!

Room Tip: away from the dock

My husband and I just came back from spending a 6 night stay at Moorea Pearl Resort and it was Amazing! The staff is so helpful and friendly, they make you feel so comfortable. We did arrive early and check in wasn't until 2pm, but they were so kind to set us up in a room before our Premium Overwater Bungalow was ready. Check in was fast and easy with Karen at the front desk and she took the time to show us around the resort. The breakfast is good, a wide variety of goodies. Omelette's made to order, breads, cheeses, fruits, cereals, cold cuts, yogurts, I can go on and on but that's a few examples. The island tours are awesome! We took Hiro's Lagoon Picnic and got to swim with sting rays and sharks. The BBQ that was offered on the trip was really good and all you can have of Hinano beer and punch or Pineapple juice. Hiro is a really cool guy and supper friendly. We also took an ATV island tour from Albert Tours which is conveniently located across the street from the resort. Either way all the tours pick you up in the lobby and drop you right off afterwards. The ATV tour was excellent, it is a must do on the island. The Tahitian Luau was also amazing, dinner and a spectacular Polynesian show with fire dance. The people in the village are so friendly and want you to get an education on their culture it's fascinating. We ate at quite a few places and we had 2 favorites, one being Rudy's...the food is fantastic and they pick you up from the resort and drop you off when your done. The other is Manuia Grill which is directly across the street from the resort, great food and a short walk. The prices are pretty pricey but so worth it especially the tours. Now if you want to save a few bucks take a 10 minute walk to the local market and buy your beer or drinks let me tell you much much cheaper than the hotel bar. All the little shops and cafe's are also in the same area. If you can take a vacation take it here you won't be disappointed. We had a premium OWB and it was the best ever, the view was amazing and we seen so many little fish, corral and even dolphins one early morning it was breath taking. One word of advice DO NOT exchange currency at LAX! Rate is horrible, your better off exchanging at the resort or better yet use your credit or debit card. I hope this review helps with your decision of where you would like to spend you vacation. Like I said you won't be disappointed, Paradice is waiting for you :)

Room Tip: Room 418 was great, quiet and the best view to see the sunrise

Was again with a film crew to catch whales on an Imax documentary. The Pearl Resort was an ideal location for us and should be as well for anyone spending time in Morrea, a relatively small island just off Tahiti. Service was impeccable, breakfasts were generous and varied, served in a wonderful windowed area. Dinner was exquisite. The rooms had somewhat of a Japanese feel to them: spartan poetry, minimal beauty, intelligent design. I really loved the place and the bar area was not only conveniently located but also well-laid for spontaneous meetings around the center square-shaped counter. I hope to bring my wife there one day...

I was fortunate to spend 8 days here a couple years ago on my honeymoon. It was an incredible experience overall. The resort was better than we expected and well worth the money spent, though it was not cheap. We opted for a hut on land which includes a private pool, where as the overwater huts are also really cool but not as private for "swimming".

The food was good though can get repetitive, fortunately local restaurants will pick you up and bring you home and can be arranged thru the concierge. Also, you can save some cash by eating at a local restaurant a 5 min walk away where you can get a great bacon & eggs breakfast for a fraction of the cost of the breakfart at the resort.

I also recommend doing some of the water activities, swimming with sting rays and searching for whales, being in the water with a 30' whale is an incredible once in a lifetime experience.

Room Tip: We traveled here about 5 years ago.

The location, lodging and amenities were excellent. Staff was good but not great. Golf nearby, infinity pool and spa; wave-rider, car rental available from Concierge.

Excellent buffet breakfast in open-air dining room.

Room Tip: If you want a great view but a bit quiter, choose the Deluxe Beachfront Bungalow instead of the &quo...

We have spent 2 nights in this hotel. We have booked a garden view room which was generally nice, but at the 1st night when we needed to make a call to a local number, we found that the phone did not work. I went to the front desk and the receptionist sent a maintanence guy to fix it but failed. The receptionist then told me they will send another guy to fix it in the next morning, who camed as promised but still the phone could not work. It is because of this problem with the phone, the hotel staff moved us to a garden view villa for free. That's really nice. We liked the villa that has a garden and a small pool. The only problem was we found cockroach in the room.

Room Tip: Ask the front desk for slippers to wear in the room. They normally do not provide them.

The style of the resort is a tasteful combination of the traditional and the contemporary with a powerful sense of Polynesia. There are 28 over-water bungalows built over the lagoon on piles, 8 more bungalows on the beach and 28 spread through the beautiful grounds with their own private pools and little gardens. The remaining 22 rooms and 8 duplexes of this 94-unit resort are in a small building.
