Suchitoto is a great colonial town that is just a wonderful place to visit. Our stay in the town was made that much more fantastic by the awesome hospitality offered by the staff at Las Puertas.

The service was impeccable. The rooms were fantastic and staff were very polite. They catered to our every need at the hotel. The view into the town church and square made it seem as if we were some place in the past where things moved slower and life seemed more peaceful.

The Chef totally outdid himself with the many dishes at the restaurant. I totally recommend Las puertas to anyone that enjoys leaving the life.

We travel a lot, even with our newborn son and we stayed at the hotel after a hectic Christmas visiting family and friends and we loved the experience.

This little town is close to San Salvador, the capital, and we wanted to take a couple of days off before heading back to LA.

The rooms are big, clean, with nice crafts and expensive looking linens, with A/C and fans to cool you out.

The bathroom is a little gem. Water pressure is great, nice clean lines in the sink and good quality towels and toiletries.

A lot of work went into the details of this little hotel. The inside garden is beautifully designed, the big wooden doors, lots of windows and light, and many tasteful decorations make it really unique.

The big surpise was the food...everything we tried was delicious! (International with a touch of local), and the bar invites you to hang around and just relax and tell stories with your friends, while sipping a cold drink.

You really would think that it would have been expensive, but the prices were very reasonable. We stayed at a similar hotel in Antigua, Guatemala, and payed three times as much.

If you are lucky, the little indigo shop will be open...we got great original gifts to take back with us.

Ah! The service!!!!! Everybody was nice and friendly and tried to acccomodate us. We had a great experience.

I stayed at the Hotel Las Puertas for four nights while I was in El Salvador doing medical volunteer work. This hotel was my wonderful refuge from the awful little place across the street where the rest of my group was staying.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, with no detail overlooked. Although it is housed in a (very well-maintained) historic building on the town
square, everything inside is brand new. The beds are beautiful cherry-wood fourposters, and the mattresses are very comfortable. The marble bathrooms are perfectly appointed, complete with a fresh bar of Dove soap every morning. Somehow, the hotel management manage to provide perfect water pressure and temperature in a town where this is a rarity. (The water is even heated centrally -- before it leaves the tap -- which seems to be nearly unheard of in El Salvador.)

The public spaces are warm and welcoming, with lovely local artwork throughout. (Even the room numbers on the guest room doors are works of art, each inscribed in a flowing hand with a pretty Spanish poem about doors.) The courtyard is lit nightly with votive candles along its pathways, making for a relaxing view from the common terrace above. (This in itself is quite a feat, considering that the building once served as a jail!)

The restaurant and bar are very well appointed, and the food is quite excellent. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant.

I really cannot say enough about this wonderful little hotel. It would
be a "find" at three or four times the price.

This beautyful hotel located right in front of the main plaza is an excellent place to explore colonial Suchitito.

All rooms are each individually decorated in the traditional colonial style without compromising comfort and amenties, each has a terrance to enjoy the views of the main town plaza and church. You can also sit on the large second floor hallway overlooking the mountains and tropical vegetation of the area a nice place to relax or read.

The restaurant serves a 5 star international menu at very accesible prices to be enjoyed with a fine selections of desserts, wines, local and imported beers. The bar offers a relaxed place to enjoy a evening drink or sit on the front terrance to enjoy the Suchitoto scene.

Las Puertas is a real value for your money.
