“Best hotel experience”

Los Almendros De San Lorenzo

Myself and a friend stayed at this hotel for 6 days. We booked thru the hotel website and arranged to be met at San Salvador airport. Pascal the owner of the hotel met us as planned and immediately made us feel welcome guests. The hotel is great, we stayed in the Junior Suite and it was huge (You can see plenty of photos on youtube or the hotel's website). The gardens are really beautiful and the staff are very genuinely friendly. What made the stay so good though were the two excursions we did with Pascal. First one we went on was to the archeological site of Joya del Ceren with lunch over looking Lake Coatepeque, then another day we drove with Pascal to the highest point in El Salvador to El Pital, where we picniced among the clouds on prawn cocktails and home made gravadlax salmon rolls brought by Pascal. Pascal is very knowledgeable about El Salvador and if he doesn't know an answer to a question he will find out for you. Also nothing seems to be too much trouble for him. I needed to access an ATM as the one in Suchitoto would not accept my card, so Pascal made a detour down to a bank in San Salvador on one of our excursions. He is a very good, safe driver and I felt totally confident either4 wheel driving with him up muddy mountain peaks or on crowded roads in San Salvador. If your going to Suchitoto and don't stay at Los Almendros and then don't go on a few excursions with Pascal you will have missed a fantastic holiday experience.

“Immactulately Clean, Beautiful Spot”

Los Almendros De San Lorenzo

May 1, 2008

We pre-arranged an airport pick up and were grateful to be greeted by the hotel owner (Pascal). He speaks French, English and Spanish and was passionate about El Salvador and able to provide us with lots of information about El Salvador.

The drive was great with the roads in El Salvador being the best in Central America. We arrived at the hotel after being on the road for over 24 hours. We had chosen to stay in one of the two suites and could not believe how beautifully decorated the room was as well as the level of cleanliness and spaciousness. The beds are very comfortable, great lounging chairs, coffee table and nice armoire in the room.

The grounds were great with lots of shade and sun, eating outside beside the pool or the garden, inside with some open air in the lounge or the restaurant. The food was great with lots of options and the staff were fantastic.

There is no doubt that I would return to this hotel if I was going back to El Salvador. It is a great location to take off for day trips.

“Fantastic and Intimate getaway”

Los Almendros De San Lorenzo

Apr 29, 2008

After a long overnight flight from Seattle, the warm welcome from Pascal and his team was exceptional. The hotel is intimate and beautifully appointed and the staff are friendly, helpful and very accomodating. We spent 5 nights in this beautiful home and explored Suchitoto and the nearby lake - there wasn't much need to go far and left quite refreshed.

“Simply Wonderful!”

I have to agree 100% with most of the reviews of this marvelous little place. Mr. Pascal Lebally (owner) and his gracious staff, go out of their way to make sure you have a truly wonderful experience. The grounds are kept pretty immaculate. Rooms had the Spanish Colonial flair to it, neatly decorated, it was romantic! Cusine was excellent and service even better! breakfast is included with the rate, and again, delicious! We felt we were amongst friends, a delightful stay!. I also like to recommend Mr. Lebally's beautiful private oceanfront home, it is truly a great deal and you can combined a stay at Los Almendros with the beach home. One complaint only: we left too soon!

“The Beautiful Los Almendros Hotel”

Los Almendros De San Lorenzo

Mar 29, 2008

Los Almendros is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The French owner has restored a colonial mansion into a boutique hotel with attention to every detail over a 20 year period. There are 6 rooms which open into a garden patio where breakfast is served. There is a lovely restaurant and charming bar as well that serve delicious food. We have owned a house in Costa Rica for almost 20 years now and have traveled extensively but this was our first trip to El Salvador and there is not much information out there regarding places to stay . . We felt very safe and welcome and we were treated with sincere attention at Los Almendros. Our room was quite beautiful with a fountain and fresh flowers, a great bed and linens, and a magnificent tiled shower. The pool is lovely set in a pretty garden area. This is an immaculate beautiful hotel. The owner and staff are so accomodating and gracious, we never wanted to leave.
