Myself and a friend stayed at this hotel for 6 days. We booked thru the hotel website and arranged to be met at San Salvador airport. Pascal the owner of the hotel met us as planned and immediately made us feel welcome guests. The hotel is great, we stayed in the Junior Suite and it was huge (You can see plenty of photos on youtube or the hotel's website). The gardens are really beautiful and the staff are very genuinely friendly. What made the stay so good though were the two excursions we did with Pascal. First one we went on was to the archeological site of Joya del Ceren with lunch over looking Lake Coatepeque, then another day we drove with Pascal to the highest point in El Salvador to El Pital, where we picniced among the clouds on prawn cocktails and home made gravadlax salmon rolls brought by Pascal. Pascal is very knowledgeable about El Salvador and if he doesn't know an answer to a question he will find out for you. Also nothing seems to be too much trouble for him. I needed to access an ATM as the one in Suchitoto would not accept my card, so Pascal made a detour down to a bank in San Salvador on one of our excursions. He is a very good, safe driver and I felt totally confident either4 wheel driving with him up muddy mountain peaks or on crowded roads in San Salvador. If your going to Suchitoto and don't stay at Los Almendros and then don't go on a few excursions with Pascal you will have missed a fantastic holiday experience.
