We have just got back from a week in this hotel, and we had a great time. Checking in to the hotel was quick and easy, and the bags were taken up to the room straight away. Our room was on the front of the hotel,(5228) over the reception area and we never heard any noise, apart from during the night when people were talking in the lobby below, but when you got back into bed the noise disappeared! We had a view of the sea to the left, and a view of the mountains to the right, and saw some fantastic sunsets behind them.
As everyone has commented on, the staff were so friendly all over the hotel, you felt really at home with them. The food in the restaurant was fine, there was always something to enjoy. I don't know if people are too fussy sometimes. The restaurant manager Osama was a great guy, always very pleasant morning noon and night, which is good considering all the hours they work. Our waiters were mainly Marousse and Mahmood, who were lovely.
We used the shuttle bus most days down to the the other hotel, for the beach. They were ALWAYS punctual, there and back. There was never any shortage of loungers on the beach, and one day they came down from the beachbar to get our drinks order! It was a shame that it was a bit windy when we were there, as my husband didn't get the chance to snorkel on the other side of the reef, the red flag was flying most days. Ther were some lovely fish to be seen just in the shallow water, so it wasn't too bad.
We went to Sharks Bay on the hotel shuttle ( $5 each). It took you almost right down onto the beach. Be aware that you have to pay 25 egyptian pounds each when you get to the resort, this pays for your sunbeds etc. My husband snorkelled from the pontoon on the beach, and saw some fantastic fish not very far out. We went on the glass bottom boat from the beach there. It was £10 each, and was a good trip.
On the last day, the other members of our party, who had been diving for five days, had a rest day, so we stayed around the pool. The drinks were bought to you all through the day, the service was wonderful. The Aqu park was amazing, especially the tsunami, although there was a shortage of inflatable rings at times.
We went into Naama Bay a couple of nights. We had a minibus from the hotel taxi desk. It only cost 300 egyptian pounds there and back, for 12 of us, which worked out to £2.50 each. The shopkeepers and bar people do hassle you a little bit in Naama, but if you smile and say no thanks, they leave you alone. I recommend the Camel bar there. It has a rooftop bar, and you lounge around on cushions or low settees, really relaxing.
Sams shop at the hotel is good for all your mossy sprays 'OFF' is good, and the gel in the yellow box stops them itching. His shop is much better than the 'asda' nearby.
Overall a really good holiday, and I would go back there again.
