Our holiday to Sharm...early May for ten days, nearly ruined by this hotel.I have submitted a full review on the fantastic Jazz Mirabel Club which saved our holiday.
Bullet points will suffice, please note,my wife and i do not expect first class service from a listed 4 star,we simply wanted a nice relaxing holiday,in nice surroundings, with edible food,we can tolerate hiccups and that things can go wrong....but oh dear me,if you have children,or people that you care dearly for,do not book this hotel, previously "The Sharm Bride".
Arrived to find no room avail, told to wait, not really a problem..but how rude was the reception manager? No smile, no welcome, nothing, trying to deal with a complaint as we wre trying to obtain a room.
Waited over an hour for our room, when arrived,a huge bare empty space of a room with holes in the ceiling,a nasty old stained leather sofa, out of date funiture with stains,a dank bathroom with an old encrusted shower head.
We could have perhaps put up with the afformentioned, thinking that we would only have to sleep in the room, then found that the 15 ft patio windows had no blackout blind, with a three foot curtain eitherside, with a bot of old net. Some poor previous occupant had tried to remedy the problem by pinching a curtain hook from the rail and securing the two curtains together in a cross fashion.
Went to reception, told in no uncertain terms that the hotel was full, that was our room and nothing could be done..unless we wanted blankets??? presumably to use as curtains...
Called our rep, who in turn contacted the manager, arriving at our room with a staff member to fix...the curtains.
This was not possible, and surprise surprise, the hotel was not full,we were given a room below on the ground floor, with holes in the ceiling, bathroom door punched in,stained furniture etc.
Thinking that a cold beer would calm us down and save the day,we eventually found the bar, tucked away, passing people that looked like they had landed in hell.
Given 2 glasses, perhaps able to hold 100ml,of luke warm lager, and hustled out of the bar, back to the seats, approx 100m away.Gave up.
Food....0/10,appauling,grease ridden,of unknown origin. The waiters hang around like flies, without direction or purpose.Breakfast,Lunch,Evening meals attrocious.
The delivery bike from mcdonalds was constantly parked outside providing ordered take outs.
Premises dangerous for children,i watched 2 children slip on broken concrete surrounding the pool pump, the steps had ingressed lighting, most did not function, some were broken, the glass ready to find its way into a bare foot by the pool.
Woken the first day by a loudspeaker,at 9 am,not too early i appeciate...but the sound of dogs barking, chickens clucking, national anthems, the birdy song etc telling us to enjoy our day were too much to bear.
After the manager found out that we were planning to leave, he sprung into action, requesting a meeting and for my comments in writing, promising a fruit basket and wine to our room...which failed to appear,as we were talking..the Mcdoanalds delivery bike dropped off its usual supply for hungry all inclusive guests.
After our complaint,we felt somewhat unsafe, as the staff, who really failed to speak anyway, fired looks that would floor an elephant every time they saw us.
The only person i would applaud,is the poor english girl of about 19,apparently taken on by the hotel to provide entertainment and act as the animation team, she had a friend, who would also act a welcome host when you entered the dining room.I sincerely hope that they has managed to find work in a new hotel.
I could go on...but we were rescued at day 2,transferring to the fantastic Jazz Mirabel Club, some 10 minute taxi ride away.
If you want a room,in a building, with awful food and staff, then the hotel might meet your requirements.Otherwise, keep searching and bypass this hotel.
I could add photographs..curtains that do not shut, holes in ceilings, broken doors, dirty unusable furniture, however i quite simply wish to forget about this hotel.
Do not book this hotel,we tried 2 rooms...both were terrible
