We arrived back late tuesday 31st, after a weeks stay, WE WISH WE HAD BOOKED FOR TWO WEEKS! It was our second trip to Sharm, last year we stayed at the water park 'Aqua Blue' and had an amazing time, this year we chose the Sea Garden Hotel from reviews we had read on Tripadvisor. What can i say? The hotel is one of three all located together, you have the Sea Club, Sea Life and Sea Gardens, all fantastic and all facilities can be used. The pools in each of the hotels are great but the one in Sea Gardens is easily the best (very child friendly as it has a shallow and deep area) and our family room was only yards from the pool. The room was spacious for two adults and three children, boys aged 13, 11 and 7, it was cleaned daily with clean towels if you wanted them. They do ask that you only change your room towels if they really need to be, one of their 'Green' requests. There are free beach towels that can be handed in at the end of the day and clean ones collected the next morning, a great selection of drinks from the pool bar (and all around the hotels) along with snacks such as Pizza and chips, cakes and sandwiches. The beach at the end of Sea Life hotels gardens was superb, take a short walk to the jetty and go to the end for a truly amazing snorkel experience, not for the faint hearted as the coral reef drops away sharply, but all our boys really enjoyed it. I would recommend that you book the 'a la carte' restaurants as soon as you as you can as they are very popular. The food in all the restaurants is varies from day to day in the evenings and is themed, we enjoyed the Egyptian the best. Breakfast is the same each day, no need to rush as there's plenty of food and space.
We booked a days snorkelling trip with the option to do a trial scuba dive, £35 per adult and £17.50 for the kids for the trip and £20 extra to do the dive. Make sure that you don't let them charge you the adult price for the children aged between 13 and 15, i had to stand my ground, as they are on holiday as children and have hotel wrist bands for children. The trip was booked through our rep and was called the 'Red Sea Experience' with Oceans Red Sea and Emperor Divers. Egyptian crew on the boat and British organisers and divers. You will not be disappointed.
We are really considering going back next year for two weeks! and i will definitely be doing some more scuba diving.
Don't forget to take an underwater camera, i took a Panasonic HX-WA10 and 32gb sd card and had great results. Also small tips to the staff work wonders.
