We booked through royalties gold service provided by RBS, and it was a thomson style holiday, we had 20kg of luggage , transfers etc included and our flights were all on time although the flight itself was shocking no entertainment at all and cramped very cramped seats!
The hotel itself was fab!
The rooms were still very new looking, we were room 4204 a lovely big double bed and a great balcony for sunshine from 7am till 12pm, room and bathroom were lovely marble and again very modern- fresh towels every day and fresh beach towels every day.
Our cleaner we tipped 20 egyptian pounds each day ( £2) but heard others left 10 egyptian pounds ( little and often apprently is a good way to do this!)
They give you a free bottle of water each person every day too which we kept cold in our small fridge in the room.
The flat screeen TV showed some news channel and a film channel both english speaking, nice to relax at night and see whats been happening around the world!
The hotel is perfect and you wouldnt have to leave the complex if you didnt want to , it has a massive pool, its own coral reef and beautiful clean beaches, plenty of comfortable beds to use both beach and by the pool!
Restaurants are great, plenty variety in the buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner!
The BBQ they provide you book through guest relations in the foyer and worth it , if your all inclusive you have one visit a week, you also have one visit to one of the a la carte restaurants and we had the chinese one, not very advanced in chnese cooking but nice for a change and the staff were keen to have feedback on their chicken and mushroon soup!
When we arrived they had a cold drink waiting for us and a friendly smile!
From the hotel you are about a 15 minute walk to the main strip of Nabq where the majority of the hotels in Nabq is, about 30 egyptian pounds for a taxi along which the security at the main gate where you can request the golf buggy to drop you off at.
There is a TGIs , Burger King, Mcds and they are building a hard rock cafe!
Next area is Naama bay ( which really is like Blackpool!) it will cost you 50 egyptian pounds in a taxi ( 5 quid) dont be afraid to haggle its all part of the egyptian experience!
you will contstantly be harrased as you pass by shops, just say no thank you and walk on and they leave you alone, i walked myself one night to meet my husband and his friend and got the usual "pretty lady" and some, I'm sure rude comments shouted in different languages, but I just ignored them and didnt even look there way but never felt intimidated!
You will notice that as you do walk along the street you get tooted at by any taxi or bus passing again just ignore its they egyptians way to let you know they are saying hi and they are available to hire
I have to say the staff at the hotel are fab they love the british as we are so much more polite and frienlier than the russians who to be fair really rule the roost in terms of capacity at the hotel , the kids I heard saying to the bar staff " milkshake now!" even at 28 years old if i spoke to someone like that I would still get a clip around the ear, but the parents are no better, the staff are friendly, attentive and very polite and really made out holiday!
Our Thomson rep Tarek was also fab, he sorted us out with quad bike trips, and our stargazing trips which i would highly recommend!
He was very helpful and sat with us to give us more of an insight into Sharm and the surrounding areas.
We booked a car for 2 days through royalties and picked it up from Naama bay from Avis, but its really not worth it as the taxis are so cheap!
If you fancy a wander to Soho square your about 15 minutes in a taxi and its beautiful at night, its a part of the Savoy hotel a very posh hotel the bars and restaurants at Soho are quite expensive but nice for a wander at night and for a dinner somewhere special!
All in all the hotel was fab , the weather between 35 - 40 from the 30th May to the 6th June cant imagine how hot it gets further into the summer months!
The airport on the way back was very clean, you can take through water etc from the resort , the airport is not too expensive for food and drink also, but quite a small airport!
Be careful with your luggage going back as they are to the kilo and will charge you extra if you are over your allowance!
Lastly , egytian tummy bugs, we used anti bacterial spray every time we touched the money, drank only bottled water etc but we 3 adults still had the runs and were off the toilet all week! to be fair I think its the heat too we brought tables from the uk and sachets to stop becoming dehydrated! mosquitos are also a bit of a pain but buy the stuff out when your out there from the chemist on site!
I also visited the beauty salon where I had a pedi etc for 250 egyptian pounds, my husband had a hot shave and a threading on his eyebrows etc and that was 200 egyptian pounds!
Would defo return to Sharm and defo would return to this hotel!
request a double room when you book we did!!!
