Stayed there just before leaving for the Galapagos. Located in the downtown core - has a very "excutive business" feel to it. Clean rooms, great breakfast! Staff were pleasant.
Guayaquil is extremely busy, noisy and dirty feeling but if you take some effort there are lovely little places to explore. Las Penas is delightful - 400 steps to the top but you pass quaint little shops, cafes with many places to stop and admire the view. A cute little chappel at the top awaits you.
Walk along the Malecon and you'll find gardens, a couple of galleries and a nice view over the water.
