I stayed at the Hampton Inn Guayaquil for 2 nights. The staff there was very hospitable. I was greeted everywhere I went. The free breakfast was delicious. There was pastries, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, juice, local foods and egg station. I loved my bed and wished I could have taken it home. The hotel was in a great location. It was a short walk down to the Malecon and there were numerous other sites in the area. On my last day, I missed the shuttle to the airport. However, one of the staff got me a taxi right away. I didn't have to pay either. When I'm in Guayaquil again, I'll be sure to stay here.

After a terrible hotel stay in Galapagos, I was pleasantly greeted with free smoothie drinks at the reception desk. The reception personnel was fully bilingual, and always helpful. The rooms were large, clean, and had a lot of lights throughout the room. The hotel location was excellent, even then, it was still quiet inside my room. I appreciated the free wireless internet, and the 3 computers in the business room. The personnel was very professional and always willing in the entire hotel: cafeteria, elevator, reception, and door. Breakfast was plentiful and had a large variety of fruits, and typical foods from Guayaquil. I found the food in the restaurant to be on the expensive side, comparing to restaurants in the area. The airport shuttle was very convenient going back to the airport. The location was very central, it is only 3 blocks from the malecon on the Guayas river. The zona rosa (dance clubs, and restaurants), and the Peñas tourist area is only 5 minutes away, and at the most $2 on a taxi ride. I think that for $122 per night, it is a great value for my money. I will definitely will stay here again when visiting Guayaquil.

The room was excellent and the location of the hotel very central to the Malecon and museums (shrunken heads!) and parks (to feed the iguanas).

The area was very safe for exploration of the city.

The food was good and the staff friendly.

I booked through the hotel website and got an excellent AAA rate. The hotel is ideally situated close to the Malecon. I e-mailed in advance to reserve the airport shuttle and it was waiting there for us with cold drinks on hand. The front desk staff was friendly and spoke excellent English. Rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Breakfast was bountiful and tasty with both standard American breakfast foods and Ecuadorean specialities. There was also free internet at the business center which was a big plus. The hotel was ideally situated on a main road close to the Malecon, so even after dark, we felt safe walking to and from the Malecon, which is more than can be said for other parts of Guayaquil. Overall, an excellent base to explore Guayaquil for a few days or just a brief stopover to/from the Galapagos since it is only a short drive from the airport and far superior to staying near the airport.
