I can only… share all the positive reviews below. This is indeed a lovely place to stay in Trogir. Luka Milat, his wife and the staff will make you feel welcome during your whole stay. If you're not in for making your breakfast yourself, just do not hesitate to take it on the ground floor. You won't regret it.
Split is at about 30 minutes car drive. There's also a small shuttle boat going from Trogir to Split (4 times a day). Luka will inform you about this (also about parking places in Split when driving by car).
Trogir itself is a beauty… in low and mid season. I can however imagine it must be an ants' nest in high season. This town comes straight out of the Middle Age (like do Split and Dubrovnik).
As for lunch and dinner, I would recommend to eat at small konobas outside of the city. On our first evening, we choose one in Trogir itself and even if it wasn't that bad, it was touristic food. I have been told (after we left Trogir…) the Pantan Water Mill about 3 km outside of Trogir would be fantastic ([-]). But this is like everywhere on the world : the more you're in the center of touristic highlights, the higher the chance you get boring food. The more you go outside and have lunch or dinner in small village konoba's, the better and the more local the food will be (and of course much less expensive). Our second evening, we ate at Konoba Babilon in… Primosten. About 30 minutes to the west of Trogir. Fantastic place (konoba run by a family).
