Hotel Zdjelarevic is located in eastern Croatia, some 15-20 minutes driving from Slavonski Brod. Although situated in a small village Brodski Stupnik where it seems the time stopped some time ago, it’s location near the Zagreb-Slavonski Brod motorway makes it really easy accessible.
Zdjelarevic is a small family owned hotel with some 20 rooms.
This is a perfect place for wine lovers as within the hotel there is a wine cellar where you can taste some excellent wines. The owner can tour you through the small cellar and give you some interesting stories on wine making tradition in his family, on wine production and wine tasting in general. They even organize trainings for sommeliers (wine tasters).
They can also organize wine tasting tours around the Slavonia region where you can visit other wine-cellars. Plus they do all kinds of walking tours, off road, paintball, horse riding, mountain bike etc.
The hotel’s building is a new one, but it is charmingly decorated in traditional style, full of all sorts of details, flowers, wood. There is a restaurant with great food and good selection of wines (not only their own), café with a winter garden, sauna and a business meeting room. Rooms are well furnished (again in a typical local rustic traditional style), air-conditioned, clean and spacious. Make sure you ask a room with a view on vineyards, it was charming even in February. I can only imagine how it looks like when the vegetation and vineyards are in its full.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a standard buffet style (modest selection but perfectly OK). Standard hotel’s lunch and dinner was excellent, but the restaurant serves also a la cart meals.
I was there with some international business colleagues and everybody enjoyed the place. They can even organize team building events for you.
I can recommend this place not only for small business events, but for anyone visiting Slavonski Brod area who wishes to stay somewhere peaceful and close to Slavonski Brod. It can be a perfect quiet weekend gateway.
They are planning to expand the hotel and a cellar pretty soon. Plans include outdoor and indoor pools and a wellness centre. This will transform the place into a superb small hotel, although it is already great the way it is now.
My high recommendations for visiting this hotel.
