Waste of money. Should only be 3 star. "Celebrated" Restaurant was closed for no obvious reason throughout our three day stay. Despite having asked for a room with seaview, we only were changed to one after the second night. Towels and bathroom basic and staff very unhelpful and unwelcoming. Worst of all the garden was locked, so we couldn't sit out in the sun. Coffee at breakfast was undrinkable out of a machine. It is a lovely building and could be such a good hotel, if the management had the right attitude and it was priced right.

After I booked my room for the wrong dates at a different hotel, I was glad to at least find something a week prior to arival - even if it wasn't my first choice in hotels. Location is great. Just minutes from all of the restaurants and browsing areas. One will quickly see all there is to see Rovinj, but the town is a great place to home base for a few days and take in the surrounding hill towns. The staff was friendly, but the charm ended there. No lift could be an issue for some, but we managed to heft our (two weeks worth) of luggage up the two flights of stairs. When we entered the room the first impression was that of the inside of a taxi - the place reeked of fake cherry scent. We quickly found the culprit. It was a spray timer with a can of cherry spray that sprayed every 15 minutes. We disabled the sprayer and opened the windows. Could only faintly smell it after a few hours. The bed was rock hard. I like a hard bed, but this was like a box spring.
No alarm clock in the room, so I set my mobile for wake up. Breakfast was very basic and only instant coffee from a push button machine. I asked about a brewed cup and was told that would be 10 KN (about $2) extra per cup. Meanwhile the CD player played Simple Minds Greatest Hits. Not ideal for breakfast... however, the eggs were quitre good.
Bottom line: I have certainly stayed in worse, but rarely at over $300 per night.

Very disappointing, not worth even half of €200 per night and no idea where Time Out or other places find their rave reviews. Our room was fine, but nothing special. Breakfast is barely adequate (andnot nearly as good as the Casa Garzotto where we moved to afterwards, costing a third of this) and served to an accompaniment of truly terrible music - "Sailing", "Una Paloma Blanca" and a Croat cover version of "Hotel California" seemed to be on a loop. Service was amiable but inefficient. Sauna, jacuzzi and drinkable coffee at breakfast were all extra. I wouldn't go back.

That was some great holliday! When we arrived to Pula airport we were picked up by the tour bus and they brought us to Rovinj and then the shuttle bus of the Angelo hotel picked us up. So the first impression of the hotel was the antique beautiful palace. Evrithing there was just perfect the rooms and the breakfast! And basicly the staff of the hotel was so nice to us. Thanks to Angelo our vacation was great!
