We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Hotel Eden in Rovinj, Croatia. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff couldn't be more helpful & friendly. It has the biggest swimming pool (salt water) that I have ever seen. Plenty of sun loungers (free) around the pool or in the large surrounding garden areas. Although we had two teenagers with us, the hotel is particularly good for younger children, as there is plenty to keep them amused, including kids pool, kids club with many activities, mini-golf, table tennis etc. The food was very good. Buffet-style breakfast & dinner, providing the largest variety possible. The hotel is a pleasant, easy, level, 10 min walk along a promenade to the town delightful town of Rovinj. There are many places for a drink/pizza/ice-cream etc. The only drawback to the holiday was the cost of the excursions, which was the same with all the tour operators and the hotel. Two of us visited the Plitvice Lakes, which were beautiful, but in our opinion not worth the £55 each cost (especially as the entrance fee was only £8.50) or the 5 hour drive to get there, which they didn't tell us about!! The other excursions to the caves & studfarm in Slovenia and the boat trip to Venice, were of similar cost. We wish we had gone for two weeks and would definately go again and recommend to anyone who is looking for a fairly quiet, relaxed hotel.
