“Best compliment is to say we would be more than happy to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2011

Stayed for a week (14th-21st June) and can only repeat what the previous reviewer said.
Lovely hotel, very clean and amazing choice of food, both for breakfast and evening - as much as you can eat buffet. Ate so much at breakfast that we did not need another meal until the evening! Complaing about it being self service seems to be "nit picking". With the amount of food on offer, having a little "exercise" walking to the buffet is no bad thing!
Hotel is perfectly located as the coast is literaly on its doorstep (perfect for watching the spectacular sunset). The National Park is also next to the hotel - lovely walks. Although the hotel looks a little dated from the outside, inside is modern and has everything you would expect from a 4* hotel.
Happy to say all the noisy building work has now been completed.

We liked it so much we came back again; although during our first visit two years ago we stayed at the Istra Hotel. The Eden Hotel is in the same group as the Istra and both are quite similar in terms of rooms, food, service and facilities. For me personally, I think the Istra just pips the Eden, to my mind it was a bit more stylish and quirky, and the sea views are far superior.
Another thing to note is that drinks at meal times, such as wine and beer, are included free of charge at the Istra whereas you have to pay for them at the Eden. Unfortunately this fact only dawned on me whilst in the restaurant, glass in hand, vainly searching for the non existent wine dispenser!
One advantage of the Eden is that you can stroll into town whenever you want, whereas the Istra, being situated on a nearby island, means a short ferry trip. The building work is almost complete and we did experience some noise from the works whilst lounging around the pool but it wasn't too bad. The town of Rovinj is still a great place for couples with plenty to see and do, great cafes and restaurants, and still pretty good value for money if you choose your venue wisely.

First of all the building work has virtually finished and any noise is very limited now. If you want pop music and animation then go elsewhere. Here you will find everything is laid back with first class service, very clean throughout, excellent choice of food and lovely well maintained grounds right down to the sea. The food has been critisised on one or two reviews (one complainig about "self service") but I can only say that the choice and quality on offer at both breakfast and dinner takes some beating. Waiter service would be better but you would certainly not be offered the choice, you would have to wait too long to be served and your cost of providing this would be excessive. So to complain about "self service" is unrealistic. Rovinj itself is fantastic with wonderful eateries and bars and the coastal paths through the forest park are perfect for walking/swimming.Beer is 22 Kuna (£2.75) for a 50 bottle (15 18Kuna £1.90-£2.25 for a pint of local draught beer in the bars), Spirits 15-19 Kuna (£1.90-£2.40) but mixers are expensive (Coke 19 Kuna) So a Jack Danials (29 Kuna) and Coke (bottle) is 48 Kuna (£6.00) Cocktails are £5.00. All in all, a wonderful hotel in a good location with first class service.

Stayed one week june 2011,large spacious hotel in beautifull surroundings, although busy
everywhere is quiet and efficient despite reviews rhe new hotel next door is nearly finished and they are just landscaping. If you like eating, walking cycling and sightseeing or just relaxing, there cant be anywhere safer in europe ,It is lush green so it must rain, the only thing
I missed was the cup of tea I make myself,so take a travel kettle and your faviurite tea,.The
entertainment is geared to german speaking nations,so if Benidorm entertainment is
required go to spain.

Lovely clean Hotel excellent rooms very difficult to fault. Food was average, self service lets it down . It was a good 20mins walk to Rovinj which is wonderfull. Avoid the Hydrofoil trip to Venice which is tacky and out to get your money at evry opertunity.

Stayed for week on Thomson late deal. This is a genuine 4* hotel in a very good location at one of Croatia's finest resorts. Service and cleanliness were both excellent . Food was as expected of a 4*, with plenty of variety and well prepared. Temptation to be greedy at every meal. Meal times were very flexible in large restaurant. Hotel probably of 80's era, but it had been completely refurbished and everything was of a high standard. Rooms were comfortable with new modern bathroom fitments, but although bed area reasonable in size it was narrower than would have liked. Balconies also a little on small size, albeit adequate.
Paid an unbeatable price for such a good hotel, although I did note that we only paid a small fraction of normal hotel tariff. Many other nationalities also staying.
On the negative side, building work was still being finalised on a new hotel next door and due to open in July. The noise of this would have been an irritation for guests who wished to sit by the pool or in the garden during the day , but Rovinj is such a nice resort so many other better options. During our week some guests were unhappy about a "farmacy convention" being held in hotel and very busy for that two days, but no hardship except nowhere to sit in communal lounge area for couple of nights.
In summary I would well recommend the Hotel Eden for a first rate holiday, provided you are on package tour rates.

Room Tip: We were allocated a room overlooking the garden
