I stayed at the Adriatic Hotel for two nights and had a great view over the old town square and harbor. There was nightly entertainment for which our third-floor room provided a birds-eye view. Unfortunately, there were enough negatives about the hotel that I would likely find an alternative for a future visit.
Upon arrival in Rovinj at 11p it was very difficult to locate the hotel even with the use of gps as it is supposedly located in a pedestrian-only zone. Upon checking in we were given some vague instruction on the parking procedure which was fairly difficult at the beginning as a fob is required to access a portion of a lot outside the oldtown.
The rooms have not been updated in quite some time although the furnishings were fairly modern or maybe just plain enough that the age was not shown. The pale blue carpet of the stairs and foyer was in need of cleaning which did not lead to a good feeling when entering the somewhat run-down rooms. The rooms, however, were fairly clean (although in need of some paint touch-up) as was the dated bathroom.
Breakfast was more than ample with all the usual bread, muesli, meat, cheese, yogurt selections as well as the option to order egg dishes.
Most, but not all, of the staff spoke English at least enough to communicate.
Overall, the location saved the day from a lower rating.
