“Bad value for money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We have spent just 1 night in this hotel. The web site of the hotel shows it as really exclusive small boutique hotel. Nothing in reality matches the picture. First of all, since it is in the old town which is closed to traffic, It is very hard to find it. The instructions from the hotel "how to find us" were sent to us in advance, but are not clear, the map is bad and not detailed enough. We have spent 45 minutes to find the hotel. People we asked did not know the address, even people working the parking place out of the old city that hotel has an arrangement with, were not been able to give us usefull information. We finally managed to reach a hotel around 11:30 pm and the lady working (the only one) at the reception was pissed that we were late and was very rude.
Hotel is paccked with massive furniture trying to give a picture of aristocracy and "old value" but it was all without any taste and just old objects packed around. The building is small enough anyway that you do not need so much furniture, especially if you are not able to put your laguagge on the floor because of this. there are 4 floors, but the elevator is going just to 3rd and usage of elevator is advised just for transporting the laguagge. The breakfast was very poor. Smell of frying food from the nabouring restaurants enters room directly. Rooms and bathrooms were big and spacious - that is probably the only positive thing I can tell about this hotel. And is well overpriced - we paid more than 250 euro for a room. If it was up to 100 euro it would more or less match the value.

Room Tip: Room on the 4th floor right hand side from stares was good.

Cute boutique hotel just off the main square. Beds good and rooms are quiet. They serve a lovely breakfast too. Our room had large tub/shower and updated bathroom. Our friends had room with small step in shower. You will like this place.

This is a wonderful hotel situated smack dab in the old town of Rovijn. The location is excellent and you can spend the day exploring the town always knowing your hotel is a quick walk back.

The actual hotel itself is beautiful and quite spacious. I traveled with my family and got 3 rooms. My dad is a little older so luckily his room was only on the 2nd floor. You'll get quite the workout going up and down the stairs! For a little treat ask the front desk to turn the light on at reception and look down. They have some beautiful antiquities stored below.

I definitely recommend this hotel for its charm and location. Kristina was very nice and the breakfast was excellent.

Because of the excellent location (and it being a medieval city) the only two issues were the parking and the noise. Driving to this hotel is incredibly difficult. We drove around for awhile and then finally had to park and drag our luggage and hope for the best. The hotel is situated near the old gates so my recommendation would be to park and leave your luggage. Go to the hotel and then ask for specific driving directions.

Also we were treated to an annual fireworks exhibition (that could rival and beat any American 4th of July celebration). My room was perfectly located to see everything and it was amazing!!! However, the party lasted well past midnight and even with all of the windows shut you could still hear the merriment which made it a little hard to sleep...

All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if I come back to Rovijn.

The location was incredible. Right in the center of everything. It's important to know that it's not easy to get to. They provide an email with detailed instructions...BUT... It's tough. The parking lot is a bit of a distance. And even though you can drive in for a brief period - its confusing,, you are driving on pedestrian only streets which is hard and you still have to carry luggage up a few tough sets of stairs. Perhaps leave some luggage in your car and bring a small overnight bag? The employee Kristina could definitely sense that we were near tears when we finally arrived and she couldn't have been kinder. The other employee(Maria?) was a little more abrasive. We kept thinking maybe thoughts were getting lost in translation - but she wasn't always the nicest.
Breakfast was lovely. Eat on the patio. We were only there one night- that is why the stress of getting our stuff in and out was so horrible.
There is a restaurant right by the hotel called balbi. Eat there. Don't eat at la puntalina as suggested by hotel. Beautiful. But not very good.

Our rooms were beautiful, located on the 4th floor with the most gorgeous views of the bay and the rooms had gleaming bathrooms and fresh linen at all times. Excellent breakfasts were available on the balcony each morning offering pastries, fruits, fresh bread, even cooked bacon and eggs if required and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed which was so nice.

The hotel is tucked away with little noise but superbly convenient for restaurants, boat trips and the shops (many of which sold the most charming art and pottery) and we didn't see one grumpy person during our entire stay in Rovinj.

Lastly "it's me" I can confirm we found the hotel management who looked after us to be so sweet, kind and above all possess the most amazing sense of humour ! Nothing was too much trouble and we can't wait to revisit !!! Very best wishes to Maria and Christina who were both such a delight !

Room Tip: I am sure they are equally attractive though to have a room on the upper floors with such a beautifu...

This hotel claims to be a palace of sorts, buyer beware ! this is hardly a palace, a few rooms converted to a hotel and is hardly a palace. The hotel website does boast of some awards but i did not like it at all, in fact decided to walk out after checking in.
The 'suite room' is admittedly large and the bathroom is also large by any standards, but the small windows offer limited views of the sea, but more views of clothesline and clothes hanging to dry.
The management did however understand our views and decided to offer us a ' discount' but we had to pay 80% of the euro220 we had booked for.

Room Tip: Dont be carried away by the numerous awards this property has received, Hotel Monte Mulini is a fabu...

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your comment. We are sorry that Villa Tuttorotto hasn't met your expectations but thank you for pointing out that Villa Tuttorotto is different from standard hotels. It is small and it is boutique hotel that definitely cannot be compared with standard hotels. We are sorry that maybe our web site didn't represent to you the complete picture of a boutique hotel in historical part of town.
Regarding the cancellation fee thank you for understanding that we had to charge you that fee as we weren't able to sell that room for that night. The usual cancellation fee is the price of one night stay and the discount on that price that we gave you was kind gesture from us as you decided to leave. For a hotel with only 7 rooms it is a big lost not to charge for one room that has been booked and kept blocked for a longer period.
We are sorry that you haven't stayed at least one night with us to experience the atmosphere of historic boutique hotel and personal service that small boutique hotels offer.

Sincerely,
Domagoj Fritz
Manager
