“fresh fish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Giannino every day has fresh fishes and the owner is very cordial/friendly. The very special dishes that you can try are: starter uncooked shellfish, San Pietro oven baked, chocolat cake or millefoglie cake. Don't forget Malvasia wine with every fish dishes and a sweet wine with the cake.

“Fantastic seafood”

If you like seafood then it's worth going here. Excellent food quality, very good wine and friendly service.

“Home made pasta?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

It is a nice restaurant with outside terrace.
The food was good, I could say excellent, but the lobster with pasta could be much better with home made pasta.
Their home wine (white) is ok, so no need for a bottled Malvazija....
In the high season you would need a reservation or you will have to wait for a while....

“A mediocre experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

A restaurant that comes highly recommended in a travellers guide should deliver better than this. Still atmosphere, value and the try hard mentality are points given. Points deducted for wine served way too late and the bread never served but still added to the check. I recommend you try get a table outside if you can. Inside can be really crowded and somewhat chaotic. The meny is more or less seafood based all the way.

“Best grilled vegetables ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We had an excellent meal and for once both chose the same thing: fillet of sea bass on grilled vegetables. The vegetables were fantastic (not that the fish was bad): I just loved the combination of pine nuts and olive oil in which they were cooked. This is simple, rustic Istrian cooking, close to its best. Good service. The restaurant is owned by the brother of the owner of La Puntalina which I would rate slightly higher (see other review).
