The hotel is located in a quiet park just a few minutes walking from the old town. It has a large guarded and shaded parking place. Hotel has a terrace with live music during the evening. Well it was a girl singing and a guy playing keyboards. Not my kind of entertainment though but some senior couples seemed to enjoyed it. If you play tennis, you would be pleased to know hotel has three tennis courts.
I have stayed there for five days in a single room. The room was small, but adequate and clean. Wardrobe’s door broke while I was using it (not my fault, I swear). When I have reported it to the reception it was fixed in no time, no questions asked.
Breakfast was a usual buffet style and for a dinner there was an option of three menus you had to choose day in advance. For dinner there is a buffet salad bar. Food was good and the service in the restaurant was fast and friendly.
Rab town is one of the loveliest places in the Northern Adriatic. It is and ancient town full of interesting little shops, cafes and art galleries. During my stay there were many street performances and it was quite busy. The island of Rab can be reached by car ferry from Jablanac on the mainland or from Baska on the island of Krk. There is also a daily catamaran service connecting Rijeka with Rab and Novalja on the island of Pag. If you don’t want to bother with ferries, the best would be to take a bus from Rijeka.
Town’s main beach is about 10-15 minutes away by foot but it can be quite busy. If you prefer more quiet beaches you can go to Frkanj peninsula. Frkanj can be reached by car or you can take for few Kunas one of the taxi boats leaving from Rab’s port which is located just few minutes walking from the hotel. On Frkanj there is a large choice of mostly rocky and pebbly beaches. There is also a popular naturist beach.
As I spent the most of my time outside, this hotel perfectly suited my needs for a decent place to stay with good food.
