We were staying in Porec (7km's away) and decided to drive up to the caves for a visit. All of the tours had a guide, ours was very friendly and also was able to provide lots of information about the caves, and also what we were looking at. It was nice to be able to see the different caves and the stalagmites and stalactites throughout the different levels. The final cave was by far the most beautiful, and it was in here that you were able to see 2 captive white salamanders that are found within the deeper caves.
The steps up and down were quite steep and slippery in places, and flip-flops would probably not be ideal footwear. As well as this it was also quite cold in the caves in comparison with the outside temperature (we were informed by our guide that it is always 14 degrees whatever time of year).
