We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay in the Parentium Hotel. It was spotless, the food was excellent and is in a quiet location right beside the sea. There is a nice pool and lots of extra sunbathing areas on the grass with trees for shade if required. The bedroom was a good size and so was the bathroom. The bed linen was changed in the course of the week and towels changed daily. Although it is 5km from the centre of Porec, it is a lovely walk through the lagoon where there are many bathing areas. If you don't feel like walking, there is a little train that runs regularly back and forth. Porec town is really beautiful and very Italian in style. The Croatians are lovely people. Most of the visitors are German and Italian with almost no Brits. The whole area is so clean - no litter or graffitti!! The two lagoons are a lovely combination of coast and countryside. Traffic free except for bicylcles which are very popular. There's lots of water sports, tennis courts and table tennis tables.
We went on a boat trip and were picked up at the jetty beside the Parentium Hotel. We sailed up the Lim Fijord, had lunch on board, called in at Rovinj for 2 hours, sailed on to Vrsar for l hour and then back to Porec. This cost £15.00 and lasted from 10am - 5pm and was a good day out.
I would love everyone to go to Porec to see how beautiful it is, but on the other hand I wouldn't want it to be spoiled. We will definitely return.
