What a dissapointment. This was the third time in the same hotel in last five years and very likely the last time. First two times we were pleasantly surprised but this time...
The check in was quick and efficient even with changing from regular visit to wellness package. We stayed in a basic room, small but comfortable enough to enjoy our stay. Wellness area has not change since our first visit, but it is starting to show decay. Tiles falling off in turkish bath, broken lights, different things repaired with duck tape. Weekend visitors were mostly Italians with no regard for anyone, talking loudly in the jacuzzi, walking around in wooden shoes, just making too much noise, with no staff to explain the basic rules of wellness area to people who didn't read them before entering.
Breakfasts were plentifull in buffet style, with many choices, so there was not much need for variations.
What we were the most dissapointed in was the food in the evening. Previously there theme buffet dinners, which ment different menues every night, with a small corner of average everyday food. Now there was hardly any change in menues from day to day, food was nothing extraordinary so gourmet experience of the evening changed into eating because of hunger. Once again guests made everything worse. Grabbing bread rolls, cheeses, salads with bare hands, spilling soups on the floor, piling plates like this is the only time they will eat in months and then loosing half of the food on the way to their table.
Maybe it was just a bad timing with the hotel being full of retired people from all over Europe, but overall experince was of paying much more for much less than the hotel used to offered. I guess we just need to find another hotel for our next wellness escape.

I travelled to this hotel in october 2011 it was lovely! great location, rooms/reception/pools/rest rooms/public areas were all spotless! great variety of food, which is delicious. We had a connecting room as we were travelling with another family which was great and very convinient. staff very helpful and friendly! id definately reccommend this hotel, definately a family holiday! my second time visiting croatia and i loved it.. not too far from the airport too!

We were first time visitors to Croatia and enjoyed our 2 day stay here as part of a bigger trip. The Diamant is a very clean hotel and the staff were very helpful in making our stay a pleasant one. Food was excellent even though it was a help yourself buffet, which is not usually my preference. I really enjoyed my walks along the coast into Porec to help walk off the food. The pool at the Diamant was very cold but fine after you eased yourself in (30 Minutes! ). We are hoping to come back to Croatia next year and spend a bit more time in Istria and at the Valamar Diamant. We also enjoyed a boat trip to Rovinj and the Lim Canal and visiting Motovun by Car.

I stayed in this hotel on reference, and must say I did not regret it. I was amazed with breakfast offerings (they literally offer everything on their buffet!). the pool staff (Saša, Anka, Jurica the cook and the life guard whose name I've forgotten ): ) are wonderful. hotel is clean and very well looked after, our room (a suite on the 4th floor) was of a decent size with two bathrooms and two balconies. we caught a good deal for the accommodation cost, and the prices in bars are affordable. receptionists are a bit too distant in their communication with guests but I believe that is because we were there at the end of a long summer season. spa and wellness is very nice and the girls there are a real pros. this is definitely a hotel I will come back in to - with my family!
