Firstly, the location of the hotel Neptun is fantastic. The hotel is situated right in the centre of the harbour with beautiful sights of the adriatic ocean and docking yachts. This makes an excellent location for trips as if you do a trip such as Venice, Brijuni island or Rovinj the boats dock right outside the hotel...perfect.
Behind the hotel is the hustle and bustle of medieval allyways with shops and restaurants, definitely the best of both worlds with this hotel. With this hotel comes a free boat ticket to the island of St nikolas to the Neptun's sister hotel Fortuna. This is great for using the hotels blue flag beach and entertainment of the hotel. The beaches are very rocky so bear that in mind. you can buy beach pumps when you are there to protect your feet.
All I can say is that the staff at this hotel can not do enough to help you. From the reception staff to the waitreses in the restaurant. The food was lovely with a wide variation nightly. I even had to go to hospital and the hotel went out of their way to help and get me free medical attention. I checked out that very morning but they allowed me to stay in the room all day with no extra charge.
Porec is a real little find and not a lot of the English have got on to it. There are many trips to do such as venice which you can book whilst you are there for about £45.00pp or book before you go. If you go with Venizialines (booked through Thomson or book whilst in porec) you can get a gondola trip for 24 euros pp you can potentially pay 80euros - so value for money.
A must is a trip to Rovinj which is beautiful which can be done for around £18.00. This lasts from 10am - 6pm and includes a fish BBQ on the boat and and also stops at Vsar. A wonderful trip...again straight infront of the hotel on the Marco Polo.
We had a lovely time and would definitely stay there again, there is no air conditioning in the rooms but you can ask for a fan and they will oblige. You will not be disappointed to stay here.
