We stayed at the Hotel Plitvice for two nights. We took the bus from Zagreb. At the main bus deport in Zagreb we were given a complete printout of all of the buses running from Zagreb to the Park. As well, since we were going to Split afterwards, we were given the complete schedule of buses running from the Park to Zagreb. The buses left on time and arrive on time. No problems whatsoever with transportation to the park from Zagreb and to Split.
The hotel is functional and modern. No finery here, but very comfortable. We declined to upgrade our room as we were quite satisfied with our reserved room. No difficulties with the reservation which we had made through a travel agent in Canada. The room was clean and comfortable. There was only one restaurant open for dinner at this time of the year. The food was O.K. but a bit pricey. The price corresponded to a tourist hotel.
The hotel is five minute walk from the bus stop and five minutes from the part entrance. The park itself is beautify and enchanting. We took the bus to the top of the falls and walked down. The paths are excellent and very well kept. The quiet and solitude are superb. The boat trip was a pleasure and the inter-park buses ran on schedule. This park is a gem and not to be missed when in Croatia.
All in our entire stop in the park was everything we had hoped for. A good hotel, wonderful walking in the park and a serene atmosphere. Not to be missed. Hotel Plitvice is very well located, with friendly staff and solid accommodation.
