We really enjoyed our stay at Plitvice. We received a very friendly greeting at reception, where we were given a complimentary upgrade to a wondeful suite with a spacious bedroom, huge living room/conference room and two bathrooms. The living room overlooked the back of the hotel yard with a view of one of the lakes. Just a short walk down the hill brought us to the entrance to the National Park. The hours we spent strolling amidst the incredible waterfalls and lakes were the most relaxing and refreshing moments we can recall. The sound of falling water permeated the air while we enjoyed one beautiful view after another. There are trams, boats and buses available for ease in reaching some of the distant reaches of the park, and all included in the price of admission. The hotel has a good restaurant with a friendly staff. The desk service was also helpful and fluent in English. It is a great hotel for enjoying this natural treasure of Croatia.

Most hotels in the Plitvice Lakes area are fairly pricey, this being no exception. The only rooms left were superior, which we took, it was huge, with a settee and TV area. It's obviously been a while since the rooms were decorated but still they were clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful, most speak English and the hotel couldn't be in a better location for vising the lakes. Breakfast was included in the price.

We stayed here as part of a Rick Steves tour. This hotel seems frozen in time... appearing very 1950s or 1960s, but it was fun (and I liked the look of it all). The rooms were very spacious (with tubs in the bathrooms). The lobby was HUGE and it had a good bar with an outside deck. It's all nestled in the woods above the falls (though you can't see the falls from any rooms). We had both a dinner and a breakfast in the dininng "hall"... and the food was typical eastern European ("heavy" but generous). There is an ATM almost next door.

A short walk takes you to a shuttle where you can go to the upper falls and then walk back.

It reminds me of a hotel from the communist era, but it's very functional and in a good location. There are lots of steps to climb, and no elevator, so be warned. The food is decent, good enough!
