“Excellent Choice for Visiting the Lakes & Falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

This was our first visit to Croatia and we were very pleased to be at the Miric Inn for 3 nights. Our room was in the new annex. It was new and spotless, with all conveniences needed - TV, beautiful bathroom, autonomous heating, hairdryer, etc. The owners are extremely pleasant and accommodating. The overall area is fairly rustic and does not offer many restaurants, so we decided to have our dinners at the Inn. It was fantastic. For 20 Euros each we had soup, meat or fish or veal, mounds of vegetables, dessert, coffee and after dinner drink. Everything is extremely fresh and tasty - no frozen or prepackaged food here. For 10 Euro each we also had breakfast at the Inn. The Inn is very conveniently located 5 minutes south of Park Gate #2. In the summer it offers outside dining and sitting areas. They are very kid friendly, and some rooms are set up with a partition and single beds for children. Very nice. We have not stayed at any other hotels or inns in the area, and feel very fortunate to have stayed at the Miric Inn.

Room Tip: We had room 15 in the new annex and it was very, very nice. It had a large double bed, plus a singl...

We stayed one night and were very pleased with our rooms. They were surprisingly more modern than expected and were comfortable and clean. The biggest surprise was the excellent dinner we had for 20 euros each. You have a choice of meat (a variety) or fish (fresh trout) and both came with perfectly cooked vegetables (a mix of fresh seasonal veggies) potatoes and desert. We ate on the outdoor terrace and listened to a local musician while we had our coffee. The service was top notch and we feel the value for what we got was excellent. Location to the Park Gate #2 was ideal

We arrived at Miric Inn to discover fantastic accommodation - extremely comfortable with lots of extra touches. Our hosts were very accommodating driving us to the caves which are an easy 1.5km walk away. We had a fantastic dinner - with an amazing serve of the freshest vegetables complementing trout (for the fish plate) and a selection of meat (for the meat plate). Breakfast the next day was also wonderful.
We arrived by bus and discovered a stop just outside. However the bus company was not at all helpful in determining this - so check before you go!

Room Tip: All rooms were great - and similarly fitted out.

We spent two nights at the Miric and from the moemnt we arrived, nothing was too much trouble and the little extras (above an beyond a B&B) made the stay very enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean and the meals were unbelievable. The dinners (fish, meat & on the second night veal), we can truthfully say were the best meals that we have had in a long long time, if ever. The home cooking, quantity and variety still has us talking about these meals

We spent 3 nights at the Miric and had a great time. Close to the entrances to the Lakes this hotel is family run and Lili seems to be involved in everything. Her mother runs the kitchen whilst her father deals with any issues that arise. Our room No 17 was spotlessly clean, modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate at the hotel every night not only because there is not a huge amount of restaurants nearby but because after we received the mixed grill platter the 1st night we had to go back for more. The portions were huge. As for people saying that 20 Euros was dear I would like to see them get a small decanter of brandy, salad bowl, home made soup, a platter full of meat and vegetables (my wife had veal one night and was given 3 veal steaks) a dessert and tea & coffee for 20 euros in Dubrovnik or Split. My meal in Split last night cost more than the meal at Miric and consisted of a soup and a main dish only. The breakfast on the other hand I did not think was good value @ 10 Euros. Lili speaks good English and is very knowledgeable about the area and is a credit to her family. Thank you Miric family for a lovely stay and we will recommend your hotel should any of our friends venture to Plitvice

Room Tip: No 17 in the annexe was more than adequate being on the 1st floor but I would say that all the rooms...

My wife reminded that this wasn't just a restaurant review that i was composing. Yes, immaculate, comfortable, homey, staff that make you feel like family, convenient to the park, expert knowledge of the park, family-like concern over the health needs of our party(my wife has bad knees) are all expressions that describe this traveller's haven. But now for the good part . . .

The restaurant is one of those gems that comes along in a long while - a cross between the best that the local culinary experience has to offer and plain honest home cooking. When you marry that with local wines, brandies and coffees, magic happens. My wife whose investigatory skills are second to none uncovered this place while planning our Croatian getaway. From fresh trout from local waters to skillfully crafted veal shank the cuisine is simply the best on earth. We consider ourselves among the most fortunate to be able to experience such delights. This is a true family experience and we truly felt like family.
