My wife and I booked a fortnight at the Rosina through Holiday Options and stayed from 31.05.08 to 14.06.08.
The hotel is quite small and the walk from the road is up quite a long flight of steps to the small reception area (more than a couple of people and it’s full), but check-in was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had booked a room with a mountain view but, as the room was rather dark, we changed to a room with sea view, which was 5 pounds sterling extra per night but well worth it. We entered into a sitting area with a TV, settee, armchair, desk, fridge/mini-bar, etc. and then walked though to the sleeping area with a double bed, terrace, wardrobe and drawer space. There was a free safe and free air-conditioning, a good-sized bathroom and the décor was bright and modern. Our room, like the rest of the hotel, was kept very clean and sheets were changed every other day. There is no pool at the Rosina, but guests can use the pool at two of the hotels along the beach front
The view to the sea was across two roads and over a couple of buildings towards Hvar and Brac and the road on which the hotel is situated is fairly busy which means that there is a bit of road noise at various times, but it wasn’t too intrusive. To reach the beach you must cross these roads and it’s a five minute walk downhill to the front and a further fifteen minutes to the main harbour which is a nice stroll, but then, obviously, it’s uphill all the way back and that’s not so nice!
Breakfast is in the dining room by reception or on an outside terrace and there’s plenty of it with cereals, bread, preserves, cold meats, tea, coffee, juice, egg, bacon and fruit on offer, plus a toaster, all fresh and well-laid out. We only ate once in the hotel in the evening and the choice was excellent and the service efficient.
Services at the Rosina include internet access and laundry service at a reasonable cost and there is plenty of car parking space, either on the large driveway or in the underground garage.
We found the Rosina to be a friendly, clean, well-maintained place ideally situated as a base for travel either north or south and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, modern hotel with plenty of facilities.
