“Nice hotel in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. While touring Croatia, we found the hotels (within our price range) to be basic and expensive for what you got. We were pleasantly surprised by Marko Polo. We had a lovely, big room that was spotless. There was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom at times, as mentioned before. The pool area was fabulous, always plenty of room. The breakfast left a lot to be desired-not great at all. It was a lovely stroll to the main town. Overall, a nice stay and good value for money.

The hotel was very clean, efficient and friendly. It is just a minute's walk to the water for a morning swim, and it also catches the sun later in the day (when the rocks on the right side of the old town are not sunny any more for swimming from). Excellent breakfast, including lots of fresh fruit and good scrambled egg (avoid the sugary fruit juice and cappuccino). Outdoors pool looked lovely, although I only swam in the sea. It's 10 minutes walk to the old town gates. There is a nice walking path up a hill into forest directly behind the hotel. Comfortable beds and good thick curtains/shutters. The wifi only works in the lobby, and in some rooms on the first floor.

My wife and I stayed here from the 25th Aug until the 8th of Sept 2013. The hotel is very clean and the staff are freindly and very welcoming. The room we had was a junior suite and was perfect for our needs. The pool area is kept clean and the pool water is also very clean. The reception staff are helpful and assisted on booking excursions on a number of times. The bar staff at the pool are very freindly and polite as are the staff in the dining room. As to the hotel position it has beautiful views over the bay and is only a short walk to the town. The food is good and a lot of choice for both breakfast and dinner. A must to do when visiting is the Buggy Safari well worth the money and the guy who leads it is a star. We also hired a boat for the day and this was such an expierience we did not want the day to end, being able to visit a number of small islands where no one else was. As said in previous reviews a pair of swim shoes are advisable as the beaches are quite rocky. Looking forward to returning soon as the place and people are first class. A visit to a bar called Servantes in town is also a must as the live music is world class.

Room Tip: book a junior suite it is so worth the difference.

My friend and i stayed at this hotel for a week half board in early may 2013. The hotel was clean and not dated as i was led to believe from some reports. Our room was spacious had all we needed and was exceptionally clean, the room was attended every day by lovely friendly people clean towels bed made cleaned through. All the staff were lovely and tried better than us at chatting in English we were hopeless at Croatian. The food was varied clearly marked and well presented every meal time, each day was different choices all fresh and kept topped up. All outside areas were clean and tidy all week. We had one of our best holidays at this fabulous hotel. As it was early May we stayed it was nice and quiet which suited us better.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a superior room when we booked. We were facing the old town so had a good view from t...

We had originally booked the hotel Liburna, however when we arrived there was a problem with their water supply so they transferred our booking to the Marko Polo. This hotel was good fantastic views over the sea and old town. The hotel is a little dated but the location and the pool makes up for that. A good choice or Korcula accomodation

We stayed hear on our honeymoon and we had a fantastic time our hotel room was a good size clean and tidy There was plenty of space for our clothes and a safe for our valuables. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of towels and a hair dryer. There was a good choice of food available at dinner time including salad, fish, good choice of meat, vegetables and plenty of desert there was less choice at breakfast but there was still plenty the best part of breakfast was the juice , tea and coffee. The pool area was clean and tidy had plenty of sun loungers and had amazing views over the harbour and the old town. The pool its self was great for cooling off but not great for too much actual swimming but if you on holiday who cares. The hotel was only a short and very pleasant walk from Korcula town which made for a lovely after dinner stroll. On the last day we book a massage at the spa located in the hotel it was well worth it great value and very relaxing. The sea was amazingly clear but bring wet shoes the beaches are quite rocky. All in All it was a fantastic hotel we will defiantly be visiting again.

Good sized room, clean and tidy (did detect a smell of smoke though) - however some interior decor needing an update. Nice pool and sun lounging area overlooking harbour. Good selection for breakfast. Handy to town
