“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

How many perfect renaissance towns in Europe are (1) surrounded by the sea (2) you can walk around comfortably in 10 minutes (3) have both beautiful architecture, great seafood and artisan ice-cream to finish the evening? And you have to arrive by ferry (or speedboat if you prefer)? Is there anywhere on earth better than this, tell me anyone?

“Less known gem in the Adriatic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

The old town of Korcula, less known than Dubrovnik, is a gem on the Adriatic coast. With its carefully laid out streets (allowing wind to blow thru the streets at different hours of the day), it offers history, charm and culture. Be sure to visit the cathedral, climb its tower, see the museum at the main square; check one of its new bistros/restaurants serving local food with imagination and international touch; in the evening sit on the western terrace or the southern tower (lovely sunset, though a somewhat overcrowded place) sipping a long drink; meander thru the streets in search of local produce or musicians playing local music. Swim on the eastern side, right below the old town, in the early morning. The only drawback: the island and the town are somewhat difficult to reach, especially outside the summer season.

“Not what it should be”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Korcula has been over-developed and feels like Ibiza in Croatia. There are fabulous villages in Croatia. This isn't one of them. However, the island is beautiful.

“An unmemorable day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

We got an early ferry here from Dubrovnik, and had to wait for the only one back. There wasn't really enough to do in town to make the wait interesting.

“Little Dubrovnik”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Takes your breath away. Simple as that. Unique, charming, historical, thrilling. While walking through the hstorical narrow streets of the old town, you will have the feeling that the town itself is telling you its story.
