Neno himself looks a bit like Mark Mothersbaugh - enough said! Much like the Freedom Of Choice espoused by Mothersbaugh's Devo, this apartment had it all; access to the town, a nice view, clean sheets and the ubiquitous free wifi. Just don't step on the bugs! Great band, great apartment!

It is unfortunate that seemingly pleasant people like Neno and his wife are partly in throes to the occaaionally padantic reviews submitted on this website. Certainly, the democratic nature of the site is to be applauded and it offers a well-balanced forum for many different types of traveller or tourist. But there is substantial power on behalf of those who write on here, particularly in regard to the welfare of people like Neno. Rant over.

We received a warm welcome from the owner who helped us park our car and carried our bags up to the apartment. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. From our shaded balcony we had a fantastic view of the Old Town - really a view to die for! We had our breakfast and lunch on the balcony and drinks in the evening and soaked up the picturesque scene. Location is excellent -only 5 mins walk to the centre. The owner was very friendly and helpful and gave us advice on what to do and where to go in Korcula. We had a wonderful 4 days there.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom apartment has the best balcony and view.

We arrived midday in Korcula, a bit too early to have the apartment ready.
Never mind, Neven, the owner of the apartments welcomed us, showed the apartments and gave advice about parking possibilities or beaches around Korcula.
Apartment had 2 nice bedrooms with aircond, both with their own bathroom, completed by a small kitchen and a spacious balcony from where we had a wonderful view towards Korcula oldtown and the sea.
Reaching the apartment and the nice view was not necessarily an easy taks. To deserve this pleasure, you had to climb some stairs, from the street, and within the property.
Neven was always very friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to stay in the apartment.
Only negative comments, would be the parking, not easy to get, at least free of charge, and the tidyness, ok as long as you didn't check the details.

Having used 'room' type of accommodation, with no catering facilities, in Dubrovnik and Mljet, we thought an apartment was in order for Korcula.

Arrival:
Neno met us at the catamaran and took us to the apartment which is only about 300m from the old town centre. Although we arrived mid morning, the apartment was available for us to check in by noon or so, which was great. An eager intense person, Neno was keen to explain the workings of the apartment and its equipment in great detail.

Location:
It is about 300m from the old town- several steps lead up from the nearest street, then the apartment is up some others. Although there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, the double glazing was a great sound insulator. The bus station is only about 100m away and a little further afield lie water taxis heading to Lombarda and other hotel resorts.

Apartment:
At the top of the stairs to the apartment lies a terrace with table and chairs- quiet and shady early in the morning. Inside, a roomy kitchen/dining area gives more chances to eat and drink. A fridge (with small freezer shelf) cooker (4 rings) and plenty of cupboard space make it useful for self-catering, however, the shower room/toilet door is here too. As the door to the apartment has no curtain, privacy is interesting.

From the kitchen/dining area is another section with a large wardrobe. Ahead lies the bedroom which was large and comfortable. The whole apartment has been recently renovated in wood panelling and so far, everything is well maintained and spotless. A small balcony with clothes line leads from the bedroom and views from this overlook the old town. Just make sure you peg your clothes on firmly-a late night foraging session was required to rescue an item from the garden below (which wasn't part of Neno's!)

The shower leaked a bit, which was a shame, as it was new and the Wi-Fi signal was weak, but overall it was a great place to stay.

What a great find! Neno met us at the ferry and guided us to the short walk back to his apartments. He took the time to show us around, explain everything, and provide recommendations.

It was clear that he and his wife, Lidija, take great care to maintain clean and comfortable lodgings. The apartment (which had its own entrance and terrace with outstanding views) was spotless and comfortable (and had an ample kitchen). The location was extremely convenient to the city center. Great stay and value!

Neno came and met us off the boat and took us on a short walk to where we would be staying. The apartment was only a short walk from the ferry and up a safe, slightly steep passageway, which turned out to be a minute away from the bus station and supermarket, and only 5 minutes from the city walls. As you walked through the door (the apartment on the right) the bathroom was on the left and the kitchen ahead, with a small table and chairs. The bedroom had a comfy double bed, with good air con and a small balcony with a fantastic view of the harbour! A clean place to stay, with a really friendly host. I'd definitely recommend it as a base to explore the gorgeous island of Korcula.

First of all, I would like to thank Neno for his lovely attitude. He made us feel very welcome to the room and gave us a guided tour around the room showing us everything with a great hint of humour.
The room itself was basic (bed, cupboard, air-con) and had a bathroom for which we had to turn on the boiler 30mins before we wanted a shower which wasn't a big deal for us.

The room is in an excellent location - being very close to the town and the bars/beaches - as well as just around the corner from the bus station.

The view from the balcony is excellent and cannot be undersold - its brilliant! I would stay there again as the room and Neno suit the atmosphere of the town in a way.

We were there on Korcula day and Neno gave us free tickets for the Sword dance in the evening which was also a lovely gesture and great to see.

Highly recommended!
