Our family of three just returned from a most splendid stay at Ana Dujmovic’s. Tony, Ana’s enthusiastic, friendly husband, was waiting for us at the agreed upon location, just off the main square and ferry drop off. Their apartments have a nice garden area with an outdoor fireplace in the back. In the front you are greeted with fruit trees and a small vineyard.
Ana welcomed us while Tony brought cold drinks as we settled in. Ana showed us around our apartment, the largest we had in our two weeks of travel. We had two bedrooms – the master being large with a king sized bed and a twin. The kitchen had an eat-in area and of course, we had a bathroom. Remember, this is not the Four Seasons, nor are you paying Four Seasons prices. The apartment was very comfortable and clean; however, the best part were the balconies off each bedroom. The view was lovely – not just the Adriatic Sea, but the islands and mountains beyond. What a perfect place to unwind (with Tony’s homemade wine).
As others have said, the walk into town was no more than 5-6 minutes. Our son chose to swim in the Adriatic his first morning there – the path is across the street and maybe 3-5 minutes away. For great sunset photos – turn right out of the drive and walk down the street about 5 minutes to the edge of a neighborhood. Look off to the left – and no one around to block your pictures (check mine out). For the path to hike to the fortress, turn left out of the drive. Ana will give you all of the directions.
We had such a wonderful time in Hvar and Ana Dujmovic’s was a great pick. It was a pleasure staying there and we felt as if we were leaving friends behind.
