We have decided to spent 5 nights in Amfora Beach Hotel and we are very happy with the choice we made. Other option was for us the Hvar Yacht hotel, which we decided against as it did not have a nearby beach or hotel pool.
When you arrive to the hotel it made a rather weak impression on me, as the entrance is on the "back side" of the hotel. However, once you get in, it's all quickly made up for :). The interior (reception desk, bar area, terrace) are quite modern with a great sea view. We have decided for a superior sea view room (against the deluxe room with bath tub) and it was definitely a good choice. The view, no matter if at day or at night is just one of the best things - you see the Pakleni Islands, the passing yachts, and last but not least the amazing turquoise and cristal clear Adria. The room itself is not very big, modern, with a comfortable bed, small table and chairs, TV. The cupboard is as the previous reviewers wrote not very big, but i managed to squezee there my 5 days choice of clothing ;-). The infamous square toilet is OK, the bathroom overall nice. I believe it is fair enough for a four star beach hotel, in which anyway you do nothing more than sleep.
The pool area is lovely, with a pool bar and a small restaurant where you can eat your lunch. you can also order drinks and food to your sunbeds. there are two swimming pools, out of which the lower one is mainly used by families with kids. June is not the high season for Hvar, so there was still lots of space to enjoy lying in the sun. And besides, there is also a fantastic pebbles beach area, where you can lie down on sunbeds. The sea is amazingly clear, and even though i am not very much of a swimming-in-the-sea fan, I enjoyed swimming in the Adria a lot. The bay where the hotel is just seems to be like a big swimming pool.
During our stay we haven't been to lounging in the Bonj Les Bains, but it looks very nice. The food there is quite good, though the prices seemed to be highest comparead to the Pool bar or Splash bar.
Breakfast is served from 6.30 till 10.30. They have fanastic inhouse baked chocolate croissants :-), make sure you give them a try! The choice of food makes the breakfast enjoyable during a five day stay, but i guess it might get rather boring during longer than that stays.
All in all, we both were very pleased to stay in this hotel. It is indeed just 7-10 minutes walk away from the very city center, the views are amazing, the quality of service is pleasing and the hotel itself modern and stylish. We would highly recommend staying in this hotel to anyone that enjoys being close to the center and in the same time wants to have a swim in the sea or in the pool every now and then.
