“Amazing views, hvar's luxury hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

We spent three days here as part of our 10 day Hvar adventure and the hotel views, service and food was fantastic, pool was great for those with kids, easy stroll to Hvar town and the best hotel on the island. Highly recommend!

We spent four wonderful days at the hotel, I cannot think of anything bad or wrong with the hotel. We had a sea view room which was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can imagine it could get very busy during high season so we consider ourselves very lucky to have enjoyed the tranquility and peace of visiting in October. Take a rain coat, you will have some wet days.

I've stayed here a couple of times over the last few years with the family. Service is always excellent here. The place is looking a little tired now and tiling, showers and toilets could do with a refurb so rooms are pricey for what you get. We stayed in the 2 bed apartments and made use of the restaurant and room service. Food in the restaurant was pretty good and quick especially when you have hungry kids tired from the day at the pool. Breakfasts great and poolside food, drink and service excellent. Probably the best family hotel on the island.

Room Tip: Make sure you get the apartments on the top couple of floors - we had 'seaview' on either si...

The hotel is built on a hill, which makes some of the rooms hard to access. I was initially assigned a twin beds room on the lowest level, which was extremely hard to find. I had to take a tiny, worn out elevator to the lowest level it will go and then drag my suitcase down a flight of stairs to get to the bottom level. While modern, the room was small and had a toilet built into a bench in the bathroom with a square lid. If you have ever seen Marie Antoinette's toilet in Versailles, then that's what the toilet in the room looked like.

I requested a room with a King bed and got switched after a couple hours of waiting. The new room was slightly with a regular toilet but it was still on the small side.

On the upside, this is one of the few nicer hotels on the island. The complimentary breakfast has a lot of variety and the pool facility is beautiful. The main pool has color changing lights in the water at night, making it look magical.

Lastly, watch out for mosquitoes! There was one in our room and we could not find it during the 2 nights we stayed. I got some vicious bites from it.

This was the best hotel on the island. The room was smaller than envisioned. I am glad that I got a sea view... It was the highlight of my trip. I didn't like the toilet at all. Felt very primitive. The breakfast could have been more upscale. The WIFI was great just it didn't work in the restaurant. The staff was very nice.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view room.

Stayed 30th Sept for 4 nights

VIEW ! Do get one with a view at the front - awesome !

Rooms are clean - I didn't find the size of a supieror room a problem - no smaller than most standard hotel rooms. Beds comfy.

Hotel is very clean. Reception staff very helpful and knowledgable. WiFi fine in restaurant and in the room .

Drinks a bit pricy (local wine and beer) but not unexpected for its location and fact it is a hotel !

Hotel Restaurant - evening buffet comes in at about 149 kuna each (19 euros) it is perfecly good with a great selection, in town, where the quality will be better for the money. It was welcome though, after arriving late and a long day travelling. Wine was about 200kuna per bottle.

I thought breakfast was great - serve yourself and lots of choice and most hot things were hot .

Restaurant staff were very attentive.

The bizarre toilet did not bother us but the seat was slighly offset !

Excellent seafront location - HulaHula was a 10 min walk (Max) and a lovely view, but a cocktail pitcher was pretty steep @ 208kuna ! Although - not worried as view made up for it !

Falco's along from Hula Hula about round the next bay is a really reasonable lunch stop if you are swimming in the area, with hammocks and a nice chill out area.

Bonj les bains was not open so cannot comment but looks like it would be great in the summer, although plenty of space round the pool (we were there end of season)

Poole area great - the pool was cold, (refreshing!)

Beach looked great but we would swim round the other coves - think you would prob have to pay for loungers although not sure if they are too worried about this, later in the season? I didn't really notice any staff - but thats not to say they suddenly may appear as soon as you sit down ! If you intend on swimming round in the coves take swimming shoes - although they do sell them in town everywhere, and at the hotel . The sea urchins can be a problem on some of the rocks.

Pizza is a good snack between 2 and about the most resonable thing on the menu, although poolside service was a bit non existent , but not bothered too much as it wasn't far to get up and walk to the hut for a drink !

MoMo bar was closed, but that looked like a nice location next to the beach.

Would recommend you hire a boat- we did this from Bruno from outside the hotel and had a 5hp boat all day for 450 kuna - although after exploring the islands we made it back on fumes ! Well worth it - get the biggest boat you can afford - but a 5 hp was fine for pootling about.

The walk into Hvar town is a little uneven so flats recommended if you are coming back in the dark ! Also - if you are tasty for the mosquitos would recommend a touch of mossie repellant when walking along the path.

Supermarket by the bus station great for supplies if required, and is about 7.99 kuna for a large beer rather than 25 kuna in the small shop next to hula hula (if you are thinking about takeout !)

If the bag trolley doesnt turn up when your ferry arrives - head to the BBClub on the front - its owned by the same people who could probably help . We just walked to the hotel with our cases when the luggage trolley didn't turn up. Back to the port area was no problem.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front - we were in 1406 which was lower than recpetion and the higher rooms I...

Wonderful hotel, set elevated with sea view .we booked a sea view room, and was worth it.breakfast superb, but the only disappointment was the lack of a hotel restaurant!.there are numerous eateries accessed by a coastal walk into the town.all in all a great choice, but what on earth is the bathroom toilet all about?
