“The Best Sushi and great service! a welcome change from the usual croatian menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011

after 2 weeks in Croatia we had tried nearly every local dish so decided Sushi would be a nice change, the restaurant is easy to find and situated in a quiet alley just off the main steps to the monastery, it is small and only has room for about 15/20 people outside with more seats inside. we ordered a selection of sushi, sashimi and salads everything is made to order so it is a little slow but definately worth the wait the fish used is fresh and delicious, and after our first serving we ordered more as it was so good. The Waiter was friendly and knowledgable but seemed to be the only one working so he is quite busy but the drinks and food flowed and we had a lovely evening. well worth a visit.

“Good sashimi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

Nice change from other Hvar's restaurants. Waiter is little confused and doesn't really understand the food but is very sympatic. It seemed like he works alone so I had to wait a while for my drink. The food was very good, I had sashimi for starter and sushi rolls for main dish. Though I got all at the same time i enjoyed it. 150 kn for food and drink is really reasonable.

“Bit of a wait but worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

We came across a sign for the restaurant by chance while looking for somewhere to eat. We'd been eating Croatian fare for the previous 8 days so we jumped at the opportunity to try something different.

When we arrived we were told there would be a wait because a large table had just sat down but it wasn't a problem. The waiters seemed a bit overwhelmed but the service was good considering there was only 2 of them.

The sushi was worth the wait and reasonably priced too, 2 drinks each and 3 plates of different rolls came to £35. I'd definitely visit again.

“very good sushi and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2011

We went to pirate sushi (which is next to Macondo) and really enjoyed the food. They gave 8 rolls per order (we ordered 3 plates) and we had octopus salad and sashimi and edmame. It comes on plates like at Yo suchi and overall the cost was about £38 for two people inc beers and tip. The sushi was very fresh and it made a nice change from the croatian resturants. Only downside was that it was only us one one other person, alhtough there are only 4 tables outside.
