“Perfect food, atmosphere and staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

A lovely back street restaurant with plenty of ambience and the best sea bass I have ever tasted. The service felt like fine dining but for normal prices. We were welcomed by friendly staff and were treated well throughout the meal. Forget the sea front restaurants and visit Giaxa!

“Best restaurant of croatia trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We spent 10 days in Croatia and after a couple days we were already tired of "Croatian" food. Every menu was the same! We loved everything about Giaxa. The food was very good as well as the atmosphere and service. Wasn't too expensive either. Would definitely recommend

“Romantic setting, great service & food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We got here at a busy time, and could have waited for a table outside, but opted to sit right away inside. The whole place is romantic, and we were surrounded by contemporary artwork, and the background of a centuries old palace. We shared an appetizer of warm bread, olives, and fantastic cheeses. Our main courses were a lightly grilled tuna steak with a crunchy herb topping, and boiled vegetables. Delicious! We also had a grilled chicken breast with vegetables as well. Dessert was a white & dark chocolate ice cream. Overall, fantastic place, and a must visit for anyone looking for a great meal in Hvar!

“Delicious experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

My friend and I tried this restaurant on the back of the reviews on here, and they were all spot on. The menu was different and interesting (and a welcome change from the usual fare on offer in Croatia), and all the food was presented beautifully and cooked well. It was our most expensive restaurant during our two-week stay in Croatia, but in my opinion still affordable, especially if it's only for one night out. I had shark followed by monkfish. The restaurant also has a lovely ambience and setting in the back streets of Hvar Town.

“Giaxa is Hvar' s "NOMO"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Last week we where in Hvar city. They recomend us this restaurant . The athmosphere is faboulous, gothic palace. The food is prepared with special flavour. Waitors are very profesional and friendly. Money/ quality/quantity is reasonable. Very recomandable location and restaurant.
