“good all inclusive, cosmos holiday, at cavtat croatia”

Iberostar Epidaurus

We had a really good week at Cavtat - only 2.5 hours flight, very quick easy airport and only a few minutes to hotel. All inclusive package which was very good value. Cosmos included various excursions - trip to Mostar very good but long, ineresting town. trip to Montenegro, many hairpin bends on mountian road but a good day with beautiful scenery. Another day we went to Ston - town walls, salt flats, seafood lunch, followed by botanical gardens (mostly trees). Another day guided tour of Dubrovnik. Dunrovnik is easy to get to from Cavtat - ferry goes from near hotel, and also from Cavtat.(approx. £8 return). Cavtat, lovely 20 min. walk along by the sea, from hotel. We did book optional trip on the Sunday to folklore performance which we enjoyed, also wine tasting, and embroidery/craft stalls. We found the hotel good value, good choice for meals. Lots of families as it was August, but quiet in hotel rooms. Overall very good value and interesting area to explore.

We have just returned from a fortnight in the Epidaurus hotel and it was the perfect place to use as a base. Although it was an A/Inc establishment, it didn't prevent us from going out and about.
The hotel is located on the sea front but it doesn't have a sandy beach. It does have a short strip of sharp, uncomfortable stones which requires you to wear footwear to swim. Also be aware of the sea urchins................they hurt, according to those who fell foul of them !!
There are two small pools, one for children and a larger one for adults. Not great for swimming but ok to cool off and relax in.
The Cash bar, located by the pool, is handy for beers, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks. All local brands so don't expect brand named drinks unless you're prepared to pay in Kunas.
The Animation Team are enthusiastic and work tirelessly to encourage others to participate in their games etc...... but they are ever so noisy. Don't expect peace and quiet if you choose to position your sunbeds close to the pool. Not only are they loud but their music is loud also. Having said that, they are a bunch of really nice, polite young people who are keen to impress, and I can't fault their energy and enthusiasm.
The evening entertainment requires some fine tuning. I'm affraid it's the usual one night it's bingo, then quiz night, the music quiz then singing and dancing etc...... They do dance their hearts and lungs out when they put on a show on the platform. It's worth going along to.
Come 23.00hrs......................all inc drinks stop and it's time to get the Kunas out if you intend to continue drinking.
Sunbeds.........I know it's not right and breaks the hotels policy, but if you want a sunbed, get down to the pool area/sea front, and grab a couple when they are unchained at 08.00hrs. If you don't, you will find the Germans, French and Russians will have picked all the best beds( quite alot are broken ) and positioned them in all the best places. You tend to find that a representative from a group will be up to set out their area allowing the others to have a lay in or to enjoy a late breakfast !!! then out comes the towels and bags to claim their prize.
I once got down prior to 08.00 and found all neatly folded towels, on the floor, in the areas where the sun beds were to be placed. Our foreign sun seekers had found another way to stake their claim for best positions and apart from causing trouble, there was nothing really you could do about it. If you can't beat them, join them.
I shall keep my comments about the restaurant to a minimum. In my experience, it's one of the best I've encountered within a 3star establishment. You will never starve. It has variety, quality and quantity.........................Very good.
You can also eat at the Pizeria if you don't fancy the restaurant. Two excellant ladies- Katerina and Radmiila will ensure that you have a comfortable meal and will see to your every need.
The rooms are plain but clean, cool and spacious. The maid cleans up and makes the beds daily, providing clean towels when required. The hotel doesn't provide beach towels so you have to bring your own.
If you don't intend doing anything during your stay, this place can provide plenty of R & R. However, we visited Dubrovnik twice. Once by boat and the other by local bus. We had a fish picnic during a three Island trip by boat, taking in the great scenery. Also a trip to Montengro is a must, taking in Kotor and Budva. We took numerous walks into Cavtat and sat drinking coffee of beer in the bars along the harbour. Very peaceful.

Would we go back to Cavtat ?.............................definately.

Iberostar Epidaurus,

Cavtat Croatia

Hotel food good plenty of it, very clean all around hotel, rooms good and cleaned every day its worth paying extra for a balcony and sea view the sunsets were brilliant. Most of staff were very helpful there were a few who seemed to not want to know you.

Entertainment was in my opinion poor and needs a serious revamp also during the day some of the games became very rowdy and noisey which I found disturbed other people who were relaxing in the area.

Drinks were all local for those on all inclusive package and again found the beer only just drinkable, premium beers & spirits expensive.

If you want a sunbed you need to be up early to reserve one, even though this is not the hotel policy to reserve the beds with towels etc.

Cavtat itself was very nice with some very picturesque walks, if you venture to Dubrovnik take the bus from Cavtat it is a lot cheaper than the boats and a lot quicker with some magnificent views on the way, a tour of the walls of the city is not for the faint hearted plenty of steps and ramps to climb.

If you are looking for nightlife then this is not the place to visit, its a good place to go and relax and watch the world go by.

Just a word of warning be aware of the scooters that run around on some of the footpaths when out walking, also Cavtat is over the flightpath for the airport which can be a little noisy at times.

If you walk into Cavtat good place to stop for ice cream or drink TIHA cafe on road into Cavtat very friendly and helpful service

“all inclusive”

Having gone all inclusive for the 1st time i found the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel overlooks a bay with picture card views, it is siuated about 15 minutes walk from the town of cavtat. The rooms are of a good size and cleaned on a regular basis, food offers a good variety of choice minimum of 5 different options every meal. There seemed to be an abundance of staff everywhere catering for every need.
The hotel provides some entertainment although fairly limited, meals seemed the highlight at night times and with everywhere shutting at 2am in Cavtat, not for the party goers and clubbers of this world.
We found taxis particulary expensive the same price as UK if not more.
We would recommend a trip to Montengro ( Blue) as described in brochures worth every penny.
Finally a word of caution the bed of the sea around hotel is very uneven and rocky swim shoes a MUST or risk cuts.
