We stayed at the Hotel Epidaurus in May 2008.
The situation of the Hotel is really lovely, overlooking the bay and a very nice walk into Cavtat besides the sea.
The Hotel rooms were clean and maid service was excellent, all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Although we paid extra for a sea view with balcony it took some imagination to fit two people onto it because it was so small although other balconies were larger. We also had a partially obscurred view of the sea.
Food was fine although a bit repetitive by the end of the week and you need a very sweet tooth to enjoy desserts.
The worst part of the holiday was the evening entertainment which consisted of young entertainers jumping around and miming to very, very loud music. Although these young people worked hard one fault with the Hotel is that there is no quite lounge if you wish to just sit and talk.
There is an outside balcony area but people inside wanted the doors open so this was also very noisey. A member of our party closed the door one evening as the noise was really loud and was threatened by a drunken women of unknown origin.
We saw groups of holiday makers with three tables full of drinks as it came upto 11pm and one evening the security guard had to break up a group of over zealous drinkers. In fairness they were made to pour the drinks away and the room quietened down.
We will be going back to Croatia as it is a truly lovely country with wonderful people just hope we can sit and talk in the evenings next time.
