Last night,I returned following 1week stay.Welcoming greeting, followed by hall porter carrying bags into room. This was offered on leaving as well.Room good, bathroom excellent.Grab rail emergency ring pull, excellent rubber anti slip mat, with a height adjustable shower head.It is not necessary to climb up and down dining room steps. You take the lift to the pool, then walk across terrace into ding room.Agree the main course for dinner was not so good, but cold table filled my needs Remember, take your own TEA BAGS.Pool area was excellent, plenty of sunbeds for all, with spares piled up high off side.Cleanliness everywhere was of a very high standard.Tell Valentena a big hug winging it's way across to her.

Room Tip: 437. Spa area cannot be rated didn't use it. Room 437 gave a very good view of Dubrovnik, and th...

Stayed here for 3 week all inclusive from May 27th, wonderful location, lovely room A236 overlooking tennis courts. All public areas were spotlessly clean, our room while being clean did look in need of some updating. The carpet had some very bad stains and he curtains were not secured, so when you closed them they came away at each end. (Maybe not a problem for some people but a challenge for me being 5ft tall). The A/C had a life of it's own, sometimes working, sometimes NOT! We found most of the staff very helpful and friendly, even though there are not enough of them, and they were under a lot of pressure. (Dread to think what July & August will be like). Only one barman in the snack bar and one in the main bar in the evening! We managed to eat outside on the terrace most days, unless the weather (a thunderstorm and very strong winds) forced us into the restaurant. However one waiter was particular grumpy and would shout, "NO OUTSIDE, INSIDE ONLY", probably because it stretched the staff even more. (You could alwalys set your own table up if you so wanted to, which we often did). We found the restaurant, while being a smoke free zone, too hot, noisy and seating too close, once you sat down it was sometimes difficult to leave the table and get o the buffet. We preferred the terrace for meals even though the down side was the cigarette smoke, (perhaps a designated area so that non smokers and children don't have to passive smoke and smokers can still enjoy a cigarette). The food was repetitive but plentiful with lots of options, most was cooked in front of you. It was well presented with a large salad bar and lovely fancy cakes, fresh fruit and ice-cream. We did hear one person complaining that there was no porridge at breakfast! If it is that important, take your own, you are on holiday in Croatia, not U.K. We were a little disappointed that the 'dress code' in the restaurant which clearly stated, no shorts, beach shoes or flip-flops was not enforced in the evening, whilst most guests did comply, at a 4* hotel I don't think that swimming shorts, sleeveless vests and beach flip-flops are a respectable way of dressing for an evening meal. (Neither do I expect ball gown and tiara) All the staff were always smartly dressed. The pool area was lovely, large swimming pool and children's pool, always looked clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds' Have to agree with 'Scallysmman10', we also had a large group of loud and rude French with a lack of control by the hotel to calm it down a little. The entertainments staff were always friendly and would chat to us even though we are not participators, they put together some brilliant shown, and we wish them well for the rest of the season. The Manager Marko Tomic has a high presents around the hotel and his office door is always open. I had a birthday whilst staying there, and while I told no one (they must have picked it up from my passport at reception) I received a bottle of sparkling whine in my room, a very nice gesture. my Husband managed to walk part of the Ronald Brown Pathway, didn't quite make it to the top, he said it was well worth the views and the perfume from the herbs, I will look at the photographs! (He got chatting to a local farmer, who probably thought he was slightly mad, and then went on to offer him a large 'Grapper' and all this before 8am). All in all a very lovely holiday.

The service at the hotel was generally poor because there was insufficient numbers of staff on duty. They all worked very long hours. There never seemed to be anyone at the Spa and the indoor pool is closed all summer. The food was frequently recycled and was mainly warmish, rather than hot.
However the activities/entertainment team are excellent! It's location is a short walk from Cavtat, which is a beautiful place. I highly recommend a holiday in Cavtat and would go back there myself but stay in a different hotel.

Room Tip: The best rooms are pool facing in Block A. They are larger with a generous sized balcony.

Just waiting for our transport to take us to Dubrovnik Airport after a great two week all inclusive holiday here. This is our second visit to the Albatros and we were a bit apprehensive regarding the hotel ownership changing, we shouldn't have worried. The management are a young, forward thinking team and are working hard to make this hotel work well. There have been subtle changes but as the manager has said everything will take time. The hotel is robustly built, and although in need of modernisation in decor everything is so clean and well cared for.
There are comments on this site that could give the impression that some foods are not how we would have at home, but we must understand the hotel is trying to please all the guests from all over. The choices are vast, just be adventurous and give a try, that is what holidays are about!

The staff are a credit to the hotel. If you need help then please ask, they soon help and give of themselves with a smile. We smiled and they soon greeted us back.......all about effective communication.

The Animation Team are absolutely fantastic. All day, everyday day except Saturday they are by the pool or in the surrounding areas mixing with the guests, not in a pushy way! The range of interests they have on offer are countless. In the evenings they have excellent shows ......songs and dances from all over the world, but we must mention that they premiered their show on Monday evening "Songs from The Musicals". It was first class entertainment*****.

We will return again next year. The area, the people and the sunshine tick all the boxes for me.

Stayed here for 1 week all inclusive. No porter to carry cases to room and had to pull cases up 12 stairs which was not easy as my husband has mobility problems. There were 22 stairs down to restaurant which was also a challenge for him. The food was not very good the grilled pork was like rubber couldn't cut it with a knife!! there seemed to be a lack of staff only one barman who was run off his feet. We went with Jet2 holidays and feel they should warn holidaymakers that this hotel is not mobility friendly. Very 1970s in need of facelift and definitely not 4 star !!

Went on an All Inclusive First Choice holiday for 7 days and had a wonderful time .
Arrived at 11.30 on Sunday 8th June and although they say you can't check in until 14.00 our rooms were ready , we were un-packed , changed and in the restaurant by 12.15 .
Our room was B449 that had sun in the morning which suited us fine .
The restaurant had a great choice of food and the wine was also very drinkable .
The pool area was large and there was plenty of sun beds for everyone .
The hotel was kept very clean and generally the staff were very happy (there was a grumpy barman in the poolside bar) .
But by far the best part of the holiday was the wonderful Entertainment & Activities Team who made you feel so much at home and were also always so happy , especially Tin (Deeaaaaaan) & Tamara who went that extra mile to make you feel welcome .
Only one very small gripe , the restaurant & bar areas seemed to be slightly understaffed .

We travelled as a family, but were given a smaller room. It was a double bed one and staff added 3rd sofa bed for us. Later I noticed other rooms with sofa beds were much bigger. AC worked all day long but could not keep the room cool until nighttime, as the room overlooked tennis courts and was sun oriented most of the day. Lobby and restaurant area were too hot as the AC was not working or could not cool it down enough...
11AM is the checkout time, and our last day we stayed at pool area after breakfast until about 10.15AM. Once in our room, the maid was in there cleaning stuff out and had even thrown our beach stuff to trash!! Her excuse was that she 'thought' we left already b/c there were no suitcases in the room. This is unacceptable and very rude!!! Took us 10 min to get changed and use the bathroom, during which time the maid stood right by our door and waited for us to leave (she was very young with long dark hair, not the regular maid we had during our stay).
Pool area is wonderful and clean. Restaurant staff is superb and willing to accommodate, they were all very friendly with our small children. The food was good, delicious for some and overcooked on other dishes. They just need to vary it more often.
