“Perfect location for combining meetings and pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

This is perfect location for combining meetings and pleasure far away from hasty every day. The life gets a new pace already when shipping from Split. Good and large amenities, spacious lobbies, good food, nice staff, perfect natural Mediterranean surroundings, nice – warm see even in October. You can enjoy warm sun, perfect beach, especially famous sandy "Zlatni rat".

Room Tip: Pay for seefront view.

We visited the Bluesun Hotel Elaphusa on a tour of Dalmatia and stayed for five nights.
First impressions were of a busy conference hotel anywhere in Europe but this was quickly dispelled by the extremely friendly reception staff who were very welcoming and efficient. They are multi-lingual and very helpful in giving advice and directions.
The hotel is ideally located for a relaxing holiday away from noise and stress. Coming out of the hotel on the seaward side, you are met by beautiful views across the channel to the island of Hvar. To left and right is a wide tree-lined path, the left leading into the village of Bol and the right to the pretty beach of Zlatni Rat. Take care not to walk straight across the path at night as there are sheer drops to the beach!
The hotel is a modern structure which caters for large numbers of guests. A conference was underway when we arrived but the hotel didn't feel too crowded. There are enough large public areas to accommodate a lot of people. These are on two levels, the lower leading down to the restaurant and leisure areas.
The restaurant is large and modern and serves food in a buffet style. The food is international and local, with soups, fish and meat dishes, a range of hot vegetables, an Italian-style selection of pastas, risottos, pizzas, etc., a large salad bar and a selection of local desserts and ice creams. All the food is of very good quality and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Our room overlooked the pool area and out across trees to the sea. The décor is modern; we had a sofa and desk and the room opened onto a large balcony (you could probably have accommodated at least 20 people on it). The bathroom is medium sized with a bath and shower, excellent water pressure and temperature. The housekeeping staff work very hard to keep the rooms clean and supplied.
The bar is on the main level and has a large terrace overlooking the pool and sea, which is a lovely place to sit a sunset and in the evening to enjoy excellent cocktails.
We ate lunch in the Tavern on the lower level, which is decorated to look like a local tavern and serves a wide range of good food. There is a ten-pin bowling alley, a games room with pool tables and a gym on this level too. We also tried out the Wellness Centre spa, where you can enjoy a wide range of treatments including thalasso therapies, massages and solarium.
The pool area is fairly small but we were there in October so didn't have any problem with getting sunbeds. There is a main pool, which has a deep end of around 1.5 metres and a Jacuzzi area. A smaller paddling pool for the children has a shower fountain. There is also an indoor pool area with a hot tub, relaxing for the day we were there when it rained.
It's not a small, traditional, intimate hotel so don't go there if that's what you're looking for - but if you want a stylish clean hotel with great service and food, great staff and a relaxing stay in a beautiful location, you can't go wrong.

Room Tip: Rooms in A Block are closer to the sea with a slightly better view.

Walking into the lobby I was most impressed, and also finding out that we were in fact half board was another very pleasant surprise. Staff were efficient and welcoming and had very good English skills

The rooms are basic but comfortable with my only complaint being that maybe the beds are a little too hard, but that didn't stop me sleeping. The level of cleaning is excellent and the bathrooms are nicely fitted and modern.

We went at the end of September and the hotel wasn't full, indeed after the tennis tournament had finished the hotel was suddenly very quiet. I don't think I would've liked dealing with a full dining room every night as people never really seem to pay attention when they are walking around buffets! The food was excellent with a really good choice, everything from a couple of types of pasta and pizza, two fish/seafood dishes and several meat dishes, with nothing repeated in the week we were there.

Its in a greaty location, a short walk tio the centre of Bol and an even shorter walk to Zlatni Rat, which is beautiful.

Highly Recommended

Room Tip: Be aware that hill view could mean "view of the entrance and driveway" but as the hotel is...

This was an oasis from our Europe travels, the hotel itself was clean and beautiful, the surroundings were natures beauty alongside a lot of gorgeous historic places , including the beautiful clear sea which surrounds you. Go here you will not regret it. Beware though of when you arrive at the airport in Split , there is a time thing on the ferry, if you don't get there when the direct ferry runs to that side of the island you have to find and pay for alternative transport both ways depending on your flights . We were there only two nights, stay and relax longer

very modern, clean, lovely bedrooms, excellent food.
drawbacks- noisy pool, lots of children with balls and everything you can think of, very shallow.hopeless to swim in.
indoor spa much better.
room was overlooking rooftops unfortunately, but had a good view of seagulls.
stayed four nights, entertainment not up to much, there were singers but when we went to have a look there was no-one there apart from the singer.
there was a nice little bar a couple of minutes away which was cheaper than the hotel.

We spent 3 nights here . Because of no availability for rooms with sea view we stayed in superior room located on the ground floor with park view. It was mistake. Room was small and dark with no balcony. Because of high season was full of people , crowd on the pool and in the restaurant. Breakfast time was a nightmare- much noise and crowd . Food disappeared immediatelly. Sweaming pool area is nice with quite comfortable sunbeds with must be booked early morning and pay deposit 100 kuna for one beach towel. Nearby good equiped rent a bike. For hotel guest is a little cheaper then for other turists.
Overall hotel is ok , the best in Bol , good located , clean and renovated but if look for peace and quiet , rest and relax you will not find it here

This is a first class modern hotel overlooking the sea and situated some 20 minutes from the town of Bol.
The staff are superb and the service impeccable, befitting a top four star hotel. Rooms are big, furnished beautifully and clean. The food, served buffet style was excellent and much of it cooked fresh during the whole dining period.
For beach and sun lovers the hotel is beautifully placed, however for those who like to occasionally retire to their room and enjoy a quiet read on their balcony beware of rooms overlooking the pool because they are assaulted by music between 10-1200, 16-1800 hours and during the evening. This rather spoiled our normal practice of occasionally reading/resting during the day on the balcony and after dinner with a coffee and a brandy. But there again we are perhaps a couple of old 'fuddy duddies'.
That is absolutely the only criticism of the place, it is a lovely hotel and our view across to the island of Hvar was superb.

Room Tip: If you want to spend quiet time on your balcony, do not choose a room overlooking the pool.
