On a visit this fall to the beautiful Jiuzhaigo National Park, we stayed at this newly remodeled hotel. Our group had requested two rooms for 5 people but were given a third room at no additional cost. The rooms were large, quiet, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The food at the restaurant was ok for Chinese meals (lots of bones and vegetables with not much meat). The large flat screen tv was nice but they only had one English speaking channel. The bathroom was wonderful with tile, marble and a large shower with an overhead shower spray. My only real concern about this hotel was cleanliness. They are still in the process of remodeling, however the rooms that they are using should be clean. Instead, I hung my coat in the closet only to retrieve it with white dust stains on the sleeves. The entry hallway floor looked as if it had never been scrubbed. There were a used set of slippers in the closet. And small pieces of rubble I noted on the bathroom floor were still there the second day although the bathroom had nice new towels and it had been picked up. Finally the shower still had a white grout resin on the tile that just hadn't ever been wiped off properly. We were given large bottles of soap and shampoo but no place to put them except the shower floor. We were given extra toilet paper and toothbrushes when requested. Most of the time they only had one elevator working, reportedly to save energy as there was a power outage earlier that night. The main issue that needs to be addressed to be world class is attention to cleanliness.
