I recently stayed at Hyatt Place and was really impressed. It is under construction, but the improvements are amazing. The front desk was nice and I was greeted every time I entered the building. My room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the 52inch flat screen TV was impressive. For me I was impressed with 4 bedside outlets. Usually when traveling you have to pull out the bed to find an outlet . You may be lucky to find one, Hyatt Place has 4 in clear view without searching for them. Great for charging your computer and cell phone. As a business traveler this was important to me. I had a little trouble with the wireless connection as the previous reviewer did. Breakfast was good too. Overall I had a great experience.

The rooms have been recently redone. The swiviling 52 inch flat-screen TV and the super-comfortable beds are the highlights of the room. However, the beds were not truly queen sized as indicated, and this was crowded for four adults. The fan in the bathroom sounded like a jet taking off. There was no microwave as indicated, the wireless service was not reliable, no vending machines were available in the hotel, and there is very little room for luggage or dressing in the room.

The lobby is a disaster but it is under renovation and should be great if it is like other Hyatt Place hotels. We were told "construction is almost finished", yet there was no lobby and renovations will not be completed until September. VERY disappointing.

The pool was decent but surrounded by boxes of building materials so it wasn't very inviting.

Breakfast was provided free and was decent. Fresh pineapple was great, but there were no waffles as advertised.

I'm hopeful that renovations will make this a great Hyatt. It would probably be good to wait until after the construction is finished, however.

This place used to be a mess. They have redone all of the rooms and done ithem well...comfortable and well equiped. The reception area is under construction until September but this place is transitioning to Hyatt Places. It is now very good and will be getting better.
We were happy this time while we were disappointed previously.

Stayed March 2007. They are changing over to a different Hyatt brand. I suggest you wait until they are through. I was "barely satisfied". Our room was decent but not nearly as nice as the Courtyard nearby. The room appeared much older than the exterior of the building would have indicated. The grounds, exterior, and lobby were nice but our room was well used. The beds were uncomfortable and the carpet was wrinkled up all the way across the room. The mini-fridge was turned off when we arrived so turning it on when we got there did little good. One description I read said "outdoor heated pool" well I guess they meant heated by the sun. It was full of pollen and dirt. On the plus side, it did have the best free Continental Breakfast I have had in several trips. Huge variety including fresh waffles, eggs, sausage, and melons. If you are staying in the HWY280 area I highly recommend the Courtyard by Marriott, it is much much nicer than the current Amerisuites.

I stay in hotels 50 - 60 nights a year, and I stay in a variety of hotels (Ramada to Marriott) in many cities. I'll tell you this (I'm in the room now), it's not as nice as a Fairfield or Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express, but it's not bad. I'd compare it to a $59 Comfort Inn. The room is clean, I can't find anything wrong there, and that's priority one. The sofa and matching chair seem clean, and the bedspreads seem clean but worn. The linens are OK but not great. The bathroom is clean and not cramped. Small fridge and tiny microwave; the "desk" is a cheapy, like you'd get at a WalMart for $59, except that it looks a little beat up, like it's 4 or 5 years old; and the accompanying wooden chair is not a desk chair, more like a cheap dining room table chair. I had a hard time with the wireless internet, seems like not all of the routers work, but I found one that does (connection to router keeps going from full green to barely yellow, but seems to maintain connection). Internet connection Cat 5 from wall doesn't work. A/C unit works and is quiet. TV channel selection sucks.

I got this room on Priceline for $45, which is what the room is worth. I'd be very disappointed if I paid their regular rate, but I'm satisfied with saving $50 by not spending $95 at one of the nearby chain hotels that I'm sure would be nicer.
