“Not a Best Western any longer”

I don't think this property is affliated with Best Western any longer and it certainly shows. The room was filthy. To start, the front door had a gap so you could see outside; on the positive, the door locks worked. The A/C unit was missing a knob so you could not properly adjust the temperature and the other knob came off so you couldn't tell what you were turning the setting to until you felt the heat or cool. The room was not properly cleaned - there were other people's effects left behind, including a pair of white jeans that were in the drawer under the TV. The bathroom was just awful - hair in the tub.

We were in town for a wedding and the couple picked the hotel; I assume they didn't get to see the rooms or saw some model. We stayed for the night because it was late, but it was truly awful. Would not recommend to anyone for anything.

“Enjoyed My Stay At Riverchase Inn”

Came to Hoover for SEC Baseball Tournament and stayed here on a friend's recommendation. Was very pleased with the accomodations. Inexpensive, clean rooms, with a pretty good continental breakfast. Easy access to the ballpark. I'll be staying here again next year for the Tourney.

Try REAL HARD to find something different --- but if you are on a real budget, I guess you could do it:

Smokey, Non-smoking room. Not Enough Towels. Hairs Everywhere. Very Dirty Microwave. Very Dirty Pool. No extra Toilet Paper!!!!

We called for more toilet paper......They said, ok we will bring it. We waited & waited, then called again- They said, oh you have to come up front to get that kind of stuff.

Went up to address the issue & there were several workers up front - not like they were busy. I said, Oh, you must have thought we were kidding, but we weren't - smiling sarcastically.

Also, phoned for extra pillows, which never came. They said, come up to the front for those, too. They couldn't seem to find any.

We called later to see if they found any---- they said, Oh, we just gave them all out to OTHER guests!!!!

“Very Disappointed”

About the only good thing you could say about this hotel is that is right across the street from the Galleria Mall. Upon arrival, we unloaded the car with all our luggage and baby items, into the room. The room was very hot. We turned on the AC full blast and waited about 15 minutes. STILL HOT. While waiting, we noticed the window curtains don't shut all the way and with the mirror on the opposite wall, anyone walking by could see straight into your room. Called front desk and requested another room. Was given another room so we packed back up and walked upstairs. Thank God the AC worked since we were there in the middle of a drought. 105+ degree weather. Once again, the curtain was a problem. Also, the phone in our 2nd room didn't work, the toilet was acting up and sometimes wouldn't flush, our toilet seat broke off, and there were several roaches in our room. We actually killed one and left it to see if the cleaning ladies would take care of it. They didn't. It was still there when we returned later that afternoon. How Gross that they didn't even vacuum. The floors were filthy and supposedly the hotel was been recently renovated per the website. The breakfast was okay, the usual continental stuff with some sausage patties and gravy thrown in. I would have eaten the biscuits and waffles but when I saw the flies and gnats in the plastic container that held them, I was sticking to packaged cereal. While eating breakfast, a department of corrections van drops off some "girls" in uniform to clean rooms. I understand trying to help someone who made a mistake, but I felt very uncomfortable thinking that these girls were in my room. This happened every day. I think the worst thing about the whole trip was finding a used condom outside of our room near the sidewalk!!! Looking back, we should have left and went to find another hotel. but we were too tired after our long trip there. 14 hours is a long time to be on the road. Be very careful staying here. Workers behind the desk were very nice, but the hotel itself needs major work and updating. I know I won't stay there again. There are several other hotels on this same stretch of highway. Stay somewhere better for just a little more money.

We were on our way to Baton Rouge and stayed here on our way. The first time we stayed (on the way to Baton Rouge) it was a nice room, good mattress and extremely friendly staff. Only draw back was being by the stairwell with teenagers going up and down and yelling to each other..obviously not here to sleep. The breakfast bar was very nice much more than just rolls and coffee. On the way back the mattress in our room was old and definitely needed replacing, plus the bar in the tub was missing so for seniors who need to hold onto something, it wasn't be best. Again, good staff and breakfast bar. For a one or two day stay this is a good place to stay over.
